Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to the installation or removal of turbine blades at a turbine blade base thereof. An apparatus according to the present disclosure can include: an operative head configured to engage an axial sidewall of a turbine blade base; and a mount removably coupled to a portion of a turbomachine assembly by a coupler, wherein the operative head is slidably coupled to the mount such that the operative selectively engages the axial sidewall of the turbine blade base, and wherein the operative head is shaped to impart an axial and a circumferential force against the turbine blade base.

Abstract: Mounting apparatuses for turbine airfoils of turbine systems are disclosed. The mounting apparatuses may include a body portion configured to be at least partially positioned between a first airfoil and a second airfoil of the turbine system, and an adjustable, first retention component formed on a first side of the body portion. The adjustable, first retention component may be configured to contact a portion of a suction side of the first airfoil of the turbine system. The mounting apparatuses may also include a second retention component formed on a second side of the body portion, opposite the first side. The second retention component may be configured to contact a portion of a pressure side of the second airfoil of the turbine system.

Abstract: A system and method for determining eccentricity of a casing and a rotor of a gas turbine includes a plurality of stationary distance detectors coupled to the casing at known circumferential positions and a rotating distance detector coupled to the rotor or a blade in or near an axial plane defined by the stationary distance detectors. The stationary distance detectors transmit wireless signals to one another to determine a first series of distance measurements between each pair of stationary distance detectors. The rotating distance detector transmits wireless signals to each of the stationary distance detectors, as the rotor is spun, to generate a second series of distance measurements. The measurements are transmitted, over a wireless local area network, to a remote computing device that processes the distance measurements into an eccentricity plot. An optional base station may be used to generate the wireless network.

Abstract: A tool for installing a turbomachine component in a first dovetail slot of a first component mount is provided. The tool may include a tool mount having a body for selective fixing in a second dovetail slot of a second component mount adjacent to the first component mount. The tool may also include a lever arm including a first portion, an intermediate pivot for pivotally engaging the tool mount, and a second portion for engaging the turbine component. Actuating the lever arm against the tool mount causes the second portion of the lever arm to install the turbomachine component into the first dovetail slot of the first component.

The fixture is adapted for mounting a plurality of turbine buckets with dovetails to a rotor wheel of a turbomachine that is separated from an adjacent rotor wheel by a spacer wheel, the rotor wheel and the spacer wheel each having a plurality of circumferentially aligned dovetail slots, the fixture includes: a turbine bucket holder having a dovetail that is configured to engage with one of the dovetail slots of the spacer wheel. The profile of a bucket holder dovetail slot substantially aligns the dovetail of the turbine bucket with a dovetail slot of the rotor wheel for at least partial transfer of a turbine bucket thereto.

Abstract: An apparatus configured to support a diffuser segment during removal from and installation into an assembly. The apparatus includes a body having two or more supports and at least two clamp rods. The clamp rods each extend from a first end to a second end. The body defines a pocket extending between the supports on a first side of the clamp rods. An end clamp releasably mates with the second end of each clamp rod. The end clamp has a foot extending into the first side of the clamp rod. A wheel is received within each support. The pocket and the foot of each end clamp releasably retain a diffuser segment and the wheels rotate to allow the diffuser segment to be removed without damaging a surface coating of the diffuser segment.
