An ultrasonic, flow measuring device, comprising a measuring tube having a straight measuring tube axis, a transmitter for sending an acoustic signal on a first signal path, a receiver for receiving the acoustic signal on the first signal path and a number of reflection surfaces, on which the acoustic signal is reflected at least once on the first signal path, wherein minimum separations of at least three subsections from the measuring tube axis lie in the range 0.4-0.6 r, wherein r is the inner radius of the measuring tube.

A method for ascertaining a compensated flow and/or a compensated flow velocity, wherein the compensation of a flow related measurement error occurs in the context of a flow measurement with a two path measuring of an ultrasonic, flow measuring device, comprising: an arrangement of at least two ultrasonic transducers pairs on a tube, or pipe, wherein the ultrasonic transducers are in a 180°, two path, one traverse, or a 90°, two path, two traverse arrangement, by means of an evaluation unit of a flow measuring device and/or a computer, characterized by steps as follows: a) feeding information relative to the type of a flow influencing, tube, or pipe, element into the evaluation unit and/or into the computer; b) feeding information relative to distance (xa-xd) of the arrangement of the ultrasonic transducer pairs from the flow influencing, tube, or pipe, element into the evaluation unit and/or into the computer; c) compensating a measurement error by means of a correction factor kD as a function of information from steps a) and b); and d) ascertaining a flow corrected by the correction factor kD and/or a flow velocity corrected by the correction factor kD, as well as an ultrasonic, flow measuring device and a computer program product.

A method for operating an ultrasonic measuring device for measuring a property of a medium includes: an arrangement of at least two pair of ultrasonic transducers for emitting and receiving ultrasonic signals across a signal path through a fluid; a holding apparatus having a wall in contact with the medium and a flat wall section for holding the ultrasonic transducers; an electronic circuit configured to operate the ultrasonic transducers and to provide measured values of the property, wherein the ultrasonic transducers form Lamb oscillations in the respectively associated wall, wherein at least two pair of the at least two pair of ultrasonic transducers each excite and capture different modes of Lamb oscillations, wherein the different modes are excited in groups, wherein a time delay between temporally adjacent emissions of ultrasonic signals is shorter than a shortest propagation time of the ultrasonic signals between associated ultrasonic transducers.

A clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter includes pairs of ultrasonic transducers arranged on an exterior of a pipeline, and an electronic measuring/operating circuit for operating the transducers and for registering and evaluating measurement signals and for providing measured values of volume flow or flow velocity. The pairs are implemented as 1-traverse or 2-traverse pairs. One-traverse pairs are arranged on opposite sides of the pipeline, and 2-traverse pairs are arranged on a same side of the pipeline. At least three pairs are arranged on the pipeline and are distributed peripherally. Adjoining pairs of a number of pairs have an inner angle down to a minimum inner angle (MIA) between one another measured about a pipeline axis, which minimum inner angle obeys the following relationship:

An ultrasonic measuring device for measuring properties of a medium located in a measuring tube includes a measuring tube wall and a measuring tube lumen. The measuring tube wall has at least one acoustic region designed to be excited into Lamb oscillations. A pair of ultrasonic transducers are located in a coupling region and are designed to excite Lamb oscillations or to detect Lamb oscillations in the respective coupling regions. The device also includes an electronic measuring/operating circuit. A supporting device is designed to support at least parts of the acoustic region against media pressure, and at least one supporting member is designed to absorb forces generated by media pressure. The supporting member has at least one decoupling device which is designed to reduce ultrasonic input from at least one associated acoustic region into the supporting member, and vice versa.

Between the second interface and the platform a vibration decoupling structural element is arranged, which structural element is embodied as a solid body, which has one or more interfaces with other elements of the vibration decoupling element, especially with the second interface for securing the ultrasonic transducer and/or the platform, and wherein the structural element (11, 39, 55, 75) has an as much as possible spherical-, ellipsoidal-, toroidal- or polyhedral shape.
