Abstract: A segment routing-based MPLS packet forwarding method and a device thereof are proposed. The method includes establishing a forwarding path in a Multiple Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network by receiving a packet, checking whether processing of a size of a label stack related to each node included in the forwarding path is available or not in each node, generating a first MPLS packet by adding an MPLS header having the label stack to the packet in response to availability of the processing, and generating a second MPLS packet by adding an extension header having the label stack and by adding an MPLS header having a part of the label stack allocated according to the label stack size processable by each node to the packet in response to unavailability of the processing.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a communication system, and more particularly, to a method for time-deterministic packet forwarding that guarantees a maximum and minimum latency requirement of a service, the method including: receiving latency information of links and nodes on a path, and buffer resource information of the nodes; calculating, on the basis of the buffer resource information of the last node, local latency budgets that the other nodes need to guarantee; performing control so that the nodes transmit a packet on the basis of the local latency budgets; and finally guaranteeing, by the last node, a residual latency budget remaining after the nodes transmit the packet within the local latency budgets.

Abstract: A method of localizing a defect location and a method of identifying a cause of a defect in an optical transport network (OTN). The method of localizing a defect location in an OTN includes generating tandem connection monitoring (TCM) coordinates consisting of a TCM level and trail information of an optical data unit (ODU) based on a relationship between an OTN line card (LC) and the ODU in the OTN, localizing the defect location in the OTN by converting the TCM level to a segment on the TCM coordinates, and identifying a root cause using a defect identification algorithm that traces back the cause of the defect in an opposite direction to that in which the defect is propagated based on an OTN layer structure.
