Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining an usage index value for an single-vision ophthalmic lens adapted to correct the vision of a myopic wearer. According to the invention the method comprises: an optical profile providing step S1 during which an optical profile of said ophthalmic lens is determined; a material profile providing step S2 during which a material profile of said ophthalmic lens is determined; a physical parameter determining step S3 during which at least one physical parameter among physical parameters of said optical profile and material profile is determined; a gain assessing step S4 during which at least two gains brought by at least one determined physical parameter is evaluated on at least one evaluation criterion of dissatisfaction of said wearer when wearing said ophthalmic lens; an usage index value determining step S5 during which a value of an usage index is determined by adding the assessed gain for the evaluation criteria.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical article comprising a substrate with a front main face and a rear main face, having a colorimetric coefficient b* as defined in the CIE (1976) L*a*b* international colorimetric system that is lower than or equal to 7, a relative light transmission factor in the visible spectrum Tv higher than or equal to 87%, blocking at least 8% of light having a wavelength ranging from 420 to 450 nm arriving on said front main face, and having a mean reflection factor Ruv on said rear main face between 280 nm and 380 nm, weighted by the function W(λ) defined in the ISO 13666:1998 standard, lower than 7%, for both an angle of incidence of 30° and for an angle of incidence of 45°. This optical article can be used to protect the eyes of a user from phototoxic blue light and UV light.
