An apparatus for managing energy in a home, the apparatus includes a device interface unit configured to communicate with at least one of a home appliance and a home automation device that are placed in a home; and an information collection unit that stores identifiers and status information of the home appliance and home automation device received through the device interface unit. Further, the apparatus includes an operation controlling unit configured to control the operation of the home appliance and home automation device in line with the status information.

Disclosed are a device and method for reducing a peak load of electric energy within a building using an electric vehicle (EV) and a device for managing the electric energy of the EV. The device includes, for control of the electric energy within the building using electric energy of the EV, a vehicle information extraction section connected to the EV and configured to extract vehicle information of the EV, an energy demand amount prediction section configured to predict a demand amount of the electric energy within the building, and a charging/discharging schedule determination section configured to determine a charging/discharging schedule of the EV based on the vehicle information and the demand amount of the electric energy within the building.

Provided are an apparatus and method for renting a vehicle using a reverse auction mechanism. The apparatus includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire rental condition information input by a user intending to rent a vehicle, a collection unit configured to collect a plurality of pieces of rental bid information input by at least one renter intending to rent the vehicle, and a control unit configured to provide the user with a piece of rental bid information satisfying the rental condition information acquired by the acquisition unit among the collected plurality of pieces of rental bid information, and notify the renter that the provided piece of rental bid information has been selected when it is checked that the provided piece of rental bid information has been selected by the user.

An apparatus for coping with a blackout based on real-time population distribution prepares for rolling blackouts while ensuring the safety of people's lives as much as possible by, when a blackout is inevitable due to an increase in power demand, implementing rolling blackouts mainly in regions in which there are a smaller number of people than a previously set number of people, providing notifications of rolling blackout times in advance, notifying people in a region not to be blacked out that no blackout will occur, etc.

Provided are a three-dimensional (3D) data generation device, an analysis server, and a 3D printing method employing a homomorphic encryption scheme. The 3D data generation device includes a memory, a scan module, and a processor connected to the memory and the scan module. The processor generates 3D data of an object scanned through the scan module and encrypts the 3D data in accordance with a homomorphic encryption scheme.
