Class 139 A winding and setting mechanism for watch and clock movements comprises a rocking bar pivotally mounted on a movement plate, three intermediate wheels pivotally mounted on said rocking bar on the side thereof turned towards the dial, a setting lever for moving said rocking bar and a setting lever spring having a foot of plate-like form, which is positioned on the side of the wheels opposite said rocking bar and holds the wheels against axial movement. The rocking bar 3, Figs. 1, 2, is pivotally mounted on a tubular portion 2 of a plate 1 and carries two pins 4 and 5 on which the outer intermediate wheels 6 and 7 are loosely mounted. The wheels 6 and 7 mesh with a wheel 8. The wheels 6, 7 and 8 are retained against axial movement by the foot 10 of a setting lever spring 11 which co-operates with the setting lever 12 in the known way. The foot 10 of the spring 11 is fixed to the plate 1 by a screw 13 and the rocking bar spring 15 is situated in a recess 14 of the plate 1 and co-operates with a pin 16 on the rocking bar 3.
