    摘要: A reproducing apparatus (1) reproduces content stored in encrypted form on a record carrier (2). The record carrier (2) further stores a carrier region code (RCC) indicating in which region content shall be allowed to be reproduced and an encrypted region key (RK) for decrypting content, in order to make it more difficult to hack a reproducing apparatus (1) for it to play record carriers having a wrong region code. The reproducing apparatus (1) has a region code storage (10) for storing a device region code (RCD), and a device key storage (11) for storing a device key (DK), which device key (DK) is different for all regions. The reproducing apparatus (1) reads a carrier region code (RCC) from the record carrier (2), checks if the carrier region code (RCC) matches the device region code (RCD), reads the encrypted region key (RK) from the record carrier (2), decrypts the encrypted region key (RK) using said device key (DK) in case the carrier region code (RCC) matches the device region code (RCD), reads the encrypted content from the record carrier (2), decrypts the encrypted content using the decrypted region key (RCD) and outputs the decrypted content.

The first video signal represents a sequence of images having a first size, and the second video signal representing a sequence of images having a second size, the second size being smaller then the first size of the images. The input unit receives graphics processing control data comprised in the video information, the graphics processing control data including at least one HDR processing instruction for overlaying the graphics data in the HDR display mode. The video processor is constituted for adapting the processing when overlaying the graphics data in dependence on the specific display mode and the HDR processing instruction. Advantageously the source of the video information is enabled to control the processing of graphics in HDR display mode via the HDR processing instruction.

    摘要: Current legislation requires the possibility of encryption when storing television programmes received by broadcast. However, legacy playback apparatuses will not be able to play back such encrypted data in a regular way, but possibly in a wrong way. This may result in problems like damage of speakers. Therefore, the application intends to hide any of such possibly damaging streams by intentionally providing such streams with a wrong identification during the encryption process. The application provides among others a method and circuit for encryption and a method and circuit for decryption. The application is especially suitable for DVD recorders, but may also be employed for other video and/or audio recorders. The invention may even be used for encrypting non-audiovisual data.
