Abstract: A telecommunication system comprises a first interface, a second interface, and a voice-over-Internet device. The first interface enables a telephonic handset coupled to the voice-over-Internet device to communicate via a phone service. The second interface enables the telephonic handset to communicate via a data network coupled to the voice-over-Internet device. The voice-over-Internet device is configured to modify the phone service. The voice-over-Internet device exposes services provided over the data network to service subscribers. As a result, a mobile or wired telephone service customer can subscribe to add-on services provided by a service provider over the data network without the knowledge or permission of the existing telephone service company.

Abstract: A system for integrating telephonic service providers to subscribers of a voice-over-Internet service comprises a device interface, a voice-over-Internet platform, and a provider interface. The device interface enables a communication link over an existing telephone service and a data network to a subscriber voice-over-Internet device. The voice-over-Internet platform links or binds a telephone number associated with the existing telephone service to a unique identifier associated with the subscriber voice-over-Internet device. The provider interface exposes the voice-over-Internet platform and thus the subscribers to a service provider. As a result, a landline or wireless telephone service customer can subscribe to services provided by the service provider without the knowledge or permission of the telephone service company.

Abstract: The disclosure includes systems and methods of video presence detection. A video presence detection system allows users at one location to monitor the presence of other users at other locations over a network based upon real-time video. Cameras and computer systems are present in each location. A video presence module collects video data from the cameras in each location and provides real-time video to each computer system. The video provided to each system is limited to a user selected set of other users and corresponding locations and uses limited bandwidth such that it can be maintained as a background operation for each computer system.
