Abstract:
A trashcan includes a container having a base and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from the base forming an interior space for receipt of a trash bag therein; and a trash bag retention member disposed on the peripheral wall, the retention member defining a passageway into the interior space of the container and comprising a plurality of resilient, flexible fingers configured to receive and retain therebetween a portion of a trash bag. Each finger includes a portion thereof that extends away from the peripheral wall. Each finger is “bent” and extends away from the peripheral wall. A finger may extend away from the peripheral wall on the exterior of the container, away from the peripheral wall on the interior of the container, or both. A method of making the trashcan includes injection molding the container and the retention member separately or, alternatively, together.
Abstract:
A cooler includes a base defining a bottom portion of the cooler; an upper rim defining an upper portion of the cooler; a collapsible cooler wall, extending between and attached to said base and said upper rim and surrounding an interior storage space of the cooler, and including a membrane having a plurality of hinge lines at which the membrane is configured to bend such that the membrane is transitional between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, wherein the cooler is transitional between an expanded configuration for use of the cooler, and a collapsed configuration during nonuse of the cooler, by bending along the hinge lines, each of the configurations corresponding to a stable configuration of the cooler; and a handle for lifting of the cooler, wherein the handle is attached to the base and is configured for rotational movement relative to the base about a pivot axis.
Abstract:
An alarm device includes a first portion housing an alarm component for producing an audible sound upon actuation in response to an alarm event and a second portion housing a vibration-inducing component for producing shaking movement in the device upon actuation in response to an alarm event. The first and second portions are pivotably engaged with one another to permit swiveling movement of one of either the first or second portion relative to the other portion. The first and second portions are pivotable between a first position, wherein opposing surfaces of each of the first and second portions are substantially fully aligned with one another, and a second position, wherein opposing surfaces of each of the first and second portions are substantially exposed.
Abstract:
A spooled adhesive bandage dispenser includes a case, a replaceable cartridge and an activation wheel. The cartridge is disposed within the case and includes a bandage roll and a waste core. The bandage roll includes a strip of bandage packages sealed between two strips of packaging. The activation wheel is at least partially exposed outside the case. By rotating the activation wheel, the packaging strips are pulled apart and the bandage package is forced out of the case through a slot. At the same time, the packaging strips are wound around the waste core. When the bandage roll is gone, the entire cartridge may be replaced.
Abstract:
An environmentally friendly system in which product packaging is reused post purchase by consumers includes: packaging textile soft goods products for retail sale comprising, for each textile soft goods product, the steps of locating textile soft goods within an interior space of a reusable vacuum-resealable bag, locating the vacuum-resealable bag within retail packaging, and identifying the textile soft goods contained in the vacuum-resealable bag by physically associating printed media with the retail packaging; and advertising as a selling point to consumers the reusability of the vacuum-resealable bags of the textile soft goods products for retail sale. Each vacuum-resealable bag is reusable for vacuum-packing by a consumer after the textile soft goods have been removed therefrom post purchase.
Abstract:
Shipping bedding sets for retail sale includes making textile soft goods product for retail sale constituting bedding sets for differing sizes of beds; packing the textile soft goods products in a shipping container such that the respective retail packaging of the textile soft goods products for retail sale collectively consume the entire interior containment space of the shipping container, wherein the interior containment space of the retail packaging of each textile soft goods product for retail sale is substantially the same, but wherein at least some of the particular bed sizes differ from another one; and shipping the packed shipping container to a retailer, wholesaler, distributor or consumer.
Abstract:
Packaging a consumer textile soft goods product for retail sale includes: providing a vacuum-sealable bag; sealing one or more textile soft goods within the interior space of the vacuum-sealable bag for retail sale to a consumer; and physically associating with the vacuum-sealable bag, for viewing by a consumer at retail sale, printed media that identifies the one or more textile soft goods contained in the interior space of the vacuum-sealable bag.
Abstract:
Packaging a consumer textile soft goods product for retail sale includes: providing a vacuum-sealable bag; sealing one or more textile soft goods within the interior space of the vacuum-sealable bag for retail sale to a consumer; and locating the vacuum-sealable bag within retail packaging for retail sale to a consumer.
Abstract:
A consumer textile soft goods product for retail sale includes a vacuum-resealable bag and one or more textile soft goods located therein. The vacuum-resealable bag includes air impermeable walls, a one-way valve assembly, and a closure mechanism. The vacuum-resealable bag is configured to maintain a vacuum condition therein when the closure mechanism seals the vacuum-resealable bag and air is evacuated through the one-way valve assembly. A pressure differential preferably maintains the textile soft goods for retail sale in a compressed condition within the vacuum-sealable bag, and the vacuum-sealable bag preferably is located within retail packaging. Furthermore, the vacuum-resealable bag preferably is configured to be opened and then reclosed such that the vacuum-resealable bag is reusable by a consumer for vacuum-packing compressible items after the one or more textile soft goods have been removed from the interior space of the vacuum-resealable bag post purchase.
