    摘要： A machine for closing and sealing erected cartons having extended articulated flaps, characterized by a readily adjustable glue-applying apparatus particularly suited for use in applying parallel ribbons of glue to multiple portions of selected flaps while the flaps are then outwardly inclined at angles greater than 90* but less than 180* with respect to their carton-closing positions. A particular feature of the invention inheres in the use of intermittently operated extrusion heads supported in planes defining included angles greater than 90* and less than 180*, with respect to a horizontal plane, for applying extruded ribbons of adhesive to outwardly inclined, articulated flaps of cartons preparatory to their being closed and sealed.
