    摘要: A fiber optic latency module including at least two spools, each storing a known length of optical fiber with one end positioned on the inside and the other end positioned on the outside of the spool. A splice optically couples the two lengths of fiber, and a splice holder is provided to hold the splice. The splice holder can be positioned within the spool core of either spool. The first length of optical fiber is wound around the first spool in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, from the outside end to the inside end, while the second length of optical fiber is wound around the second spool in the opposite direction, from the inside end to the outside end. The module is designed to ensure consistent latency between different components of a fiber optic network or system by adding a predetermined amount of latency to fiber optic networks.

The cable manager part (20) can be provided with a rear housing (40), a lacing fixture part (30), and a grounding part (50). In one aspect, the grounding part (50) provides grounding contact between an inserted cable (4) and the connector part (12). In one aspect, the grounding part (50) secures the connector part (12) to the rear housing part (40). In one example, a connector assembly (110) is provided with a grounding arrangement (150) including a plurality of deflectable grounding members (152) and provides grounding contact between the inserted cable (4) and the connector part (112). In one aspect, the grounding members (152) each provide two points of contact against the cable (4).

    摘要: A coupler couples a first connector with a second connector wherein each of the connectors is coupled to exactly two electrical conductors. Each coupler can be utilized in a shielded (e.g., metal) or non-shielded (e.g. non-metal) form as appropriate to a specific application. Each coupler includes exactly one pair of pin contacts, preferably with a square or rectangular cross- section. Each end of the pin contacts includes four tapered faces that join at a flattened apex and are configured to be received by the tuning fork contact of the connector. The pair of pin contacts are offset from one another and cross one another within the coupler to maintain electrical polarity as electricity travels from the tuning fork contacts of a first connector to the pin contacts of the coupler and onward to the tuning fork contacts of a second connector.

    摘要: A family of connectors to accommodate a single twisted pair of conductors is disclosed herein. The family of connectors includes a free connector, a fixed connector, and an adapter; the free and/or fixed connectors can be modified to accommodate the adapter configuration and/or modified to accommodate various patch cord configurations. In certain embodiments, the one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration and an LC fiber optic footprint configuration. In certain examples, one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration but in a footprint that is larger or smaller than the footprint of the LC fiber optic footprint. Other configurations may also be adopted.
