    Abstract: Described herein are devices, systems, methods, and processes for improving retransmissions in wireless communication networks by distinguishing between temporal interference and longer-term radio frequency (RF) condition issues. The fact that the access point (AP) does not usually move may be leveraged, and a machine learning process can be utilized to learn and adapt to the RF conditions in the cell. The AP records various parameters for each frame received from client devices and uses this data to build a pairwise temporal matrix. Machine learning models are trained using these parameters, enabling the AP to compute the likely efficient set of modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) at each static position and along moving positions. The AP can then adapt its MCS accordingly for the downlink traffic and provide the client device with recommended MCSs for upcoming uplink transmissions. Accordingly, the retry count at the client devices can be reduced.

    Abstract: A first access point of a wireless network minimizes Media Access Control (MAC) address collisions in the wireless network. The first access point receives an association request from a first wireless device. The association request identifies a first MAC address of the first wireless device. The first access point determines whether a second wireless device is associated with the wireless network using the first MAC address. Responsive to a determination that the second wireless device is associated with a second access point of the wireless network, the first access point obtains a virtual MAC address for the first wireless device. The first access point translates between the first MAC address and the virtual MAC address for network traffic of the first wireless device.

    Abstract: Stateful roaming techniques are provided for use in a wireless network. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes: obtaining flow information descriptive of one or more traffic flows associated with a wireless client device that is associated to a current access point in a wireless network; storing state data representing the flow information for flows associated with the wireless client device together with a traffic descriptor for each flow; determining that the wireless client device is seeking to roam from the current access point to a new access point; and sending the state data for the wireless client device to the new access point to enable the new access point to apply a policy based on the state data before the wireless client device completes its roam to the new access point.

    Abstract: Described herein are devices, systems, methods, and processes for energy-efficient routing in a cloud environment. The system includes a load balancer that distributes incoming traffic across multiple application instances hosted within different availability zones (AZs) based on a preference for sustainable energy sources as communicated by a client device. The client device communicates its preference for sustainable energy sources through a sustainability flag included in a service request. The load balancer steers the service request to the suitable resource based on the sustainability flag. In subsequent interactions, the client device can send a service request with a configuration, such as a sticky cookie. The configuration may allow the load balancer to consistently direct requests from the same client device to the same resource. Accordingly, the embodiments enable energy-efficient routing, client preference for sustainable energy, and consistent service, and contribute to environmental protection.
