Abstract: In one embodiment, a device determines locations of a plurality of transmitters relative to a particular wireless access point in a wireless network. One of the transmitters comprises a target client to which the particular wireless access point is to communicate. The device compares a plurality of beamforming patterns associated with the particular wireless access point to the determined locations. The device selects, based on the comparison, one of the beamforming patterns for use by the particular wireless access point to communicate with the target client. The device controls the particular wireless access point to use the selected beamforming pattern to communicate with the target client.

An application controller receives endpoint application criteria that specify end-to-end conditions that at least one network is to satisfy when forwarding the at least one packet flow. Abstract: In one embodiment, a first device in a network sends a Session Traversal Utilities for Network Address Translation (STUN) binding request towards an endpoint device of a media session between the first and endpoint devices. The binding request includes one or more network attribute fields. The first device receives a binding response from an intermediate node between the first and endpoint devices in the network, in response to sending the binding request towards the endpoint device. The intermediate node inserted the one or more network attribute fields into the binding response. The received binding response includes one or more metrics for the media session in the one or more network attribute fields. The first device adjusts one or more bitrates of the media session based on the one or more metrics for the media session in the received binding response.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a network device connected to an Internet Protocol (IP) network and a serial network scans an infrastructure of the serial network. Based on the scanning, the network device can determine one or more serial endpoints within the serial network infrastructure, and may then allocate an IP address to each of the one or more serial endpoints. The network device may then map received IP network traffic into serial protocol commands on the serial network for a destination serial endpoint having an allocated IP address corresponding to a destination IP address of the received IP network traffic, and may also bridge data present on the serial network from a sourcing serial endpoint into an IP message on the IP network with an indication of a corresponding allocated IP address of the sourcing serial endpoint, accordingly.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device between a Controller Area Network (CAN)-based network and an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network receives a CAN message from a node in the CAN-based network. The CAN message comprises a CAN message identifier and a data field. The device determines an IP header based on the CAN message identifier and the CAN message. The device converts the data field of the CAN message into an IP message that includes the determined IP header. The device sends the IP message via the IP network to one or more eligible destinations for the IP message.
