摘要： An environmental control system, includes an air cycle machine for conditioning an interior space with cooling air, the air cycle machine including a fan coupled to a shaft that rotates about a shaft axis, the fan being located at a distal end of the air cycle machine; a speed sensor module having a speed sensor for sensing a rotational speed of the shaft; wherein the speed sensor module includes an outer portion having a first bore aligned on the shaft axis, an intermediate portion having a second bore aligned on the shaft axis, and an inner portion aligned on the shaft axis; and a diffuser assembly including a cylindrical assembly for ducting a first portion of the cooling air to an inlet side of the fan and for communicating a second portion of the cooling air directly to a discharge side of the fan without passing the inlet side.

摘要： A moisture collector for collecting moisture from moisture containing air exiting from an air conditioning system in substantially a first flow direction is disclosed. The collector including a moisture collector housing defining a volume. An inlet extends into the volume for receiving the moisture containing air from the air conditioning system while substantially moving in the first flow direction. An outlet extends out of the volume for exhausting substantially moisture free air. A device for redirecting the moisture containing air is positioned within the volume and upstream of the outlet. At the device, moisture is removed from the moisture containing air for forming the substantially moisture free air. An air passageway is defined in the volume for directing the substantially moisture free air from the device for redirecting toward the outlet along with the moisture. A volume for collecting the moisture is provided. A device is positioned in the air passageway in the path of the moisture free air for directing the moisture moving with the moisture free air into the volume for collecting downstream of the outlet.

摘要： An integrated environmental control system is disclosed for providing conditioned supply air to loads such as a passenger cabin of an aircraft. The system comprises at least two shafts, each shaft having a fan, compressor, and turbine mechanically secured to the shaft; common heat transfer components including primary and secondary heat exchangers, a reheater, and a condenser with a water collector; lines that deliver the supply air separately through the compressors and turbines of each shaft and deliver the supply air in common through the common heat transfer components to the load; and shutoff valves secured in fluid communication with each turbine. Upon interruption in the flow of cooled supply air out of a particular turbine secured to any of the shafts, a shutoff valve shuts off transfer of the supply air to that particular turbine on that interrupted shaft and the remaining shafts and their respective fans, compressors, turbines, and the common heat transfer components continue to receive, condition and deliver the supply air to the load in a redundant operating mode. Because the total heat exchange capacity of the integrated, common heat transfer components is large enough to satisfy conditioned air requirements of the load, and in the redundant operating mode the supply air is exposed to that total heat exchange capacity, the system provides enhanced redundant operating mode performance and offers decreased weight, size, and cost over known systems having mechanical components of a comparable size, weight and work capacity.
