The invention relates to a tube emitting electromagnetic radiation which is made of glass or transparent non-fluorescent quartz, and has an elongated boring able to house a radiation-emitting filament or bundle. The boring has a substantially square or rectangular cross-section, at least two opposite sides of which form dioptric convex surfaces shaped to alter the direction of the radiation emitted by the filament or axis of the bundle so as to render them parallel or substantially parallel in the solid transparent glass medium.

The invention relates to a panel for the production and directional reflection of infrared or ultraviolet radiation.The quartz tubes (5) employed for emission of radiation are juxtaposed within a frame. The rear reflector is constituted by V-section elements (8) which are placed side by side in order to define reflecting troughs (19).Application: construction of a self-supporting reflector which permits variation in power, outputs and wavelengths of the infrared-radiation emitted by the panel.

The device comprises a straight transparent quartz tube (2) with an end-to-end bore (3) for retaining a pressurised ionising gas extending therethrough around an axis (4) and defining the cross section of the radiation transmitter beam, and a surface (7) for reflecting the transmitted radiation, comprising two longitudinal side wings (14) symmetrical in relation to an axial plane (10) of the bore, said reflecting portion being at least partially secured to the tube.
