摘要： Biomarkers of high blood pressure are measured to identify high blood pressure of the subject based on one or more biomarkers. In many embodiments, the response of the biomarker to blood pressure occurs over the course of at least an hour, such that the high blood pressure identification is based on a cumulative effect of physiology of the subject over a period of time. The methods and apparatus of identifying high blood pressure with biomarkers have the advantage of providing improved treatment of the subject, as the identified biomarker can be related to an effect of the high blood pressure on the subject, such as a biomarker corresponding to central blood pressure. The sample can be subjected to increases in one or more of pressure or temperatures, and changes in the blood sample measured over time.

A person's initial blood sample spectra may be processed to identify components that have been found to reflect the impact of a lifestyle program, without identifying a biomarker in the blood. Each lifestyle program may be associated with its own set of spectra components or channel that indicate the impact of the program on blood spectra. Based on the person's initial blood spectra and the channel associated with each program, a process may generate a recommended set of programs that the person could use to improve their health. This set of programs may be filtered based on a demographic characteristic or characteristics of the person by comparing the set of programs to a ranked list of programs found helpful by people with a similar demographic characteristic.

The blood sample collector can be placed in a receptacle of a spectrometer to measure spectral data from the blood sample while the blood sample separates. The container may comprise a window to allow light such as infrared light to pass through the container, with the blood sample at least partially separating within the container between spectral measurements, which can provide improved accuracy of the measurements and additional information regarding the sample. The container may comprise an elongate axis and the container configured for placement in the spectrometer receptacle with the elongate axis extending toward a vertical direction in order to improve gravimetric separation of the blood sample. The spectrometer can be configured to measure the blood sample at a plurality of heights along the sample as the sample separates.
