Abstract: A cellular base station antenna is provided with a plurality of radiating elements arranged among a plurality of columns disposed over a reflector. In accordance with one embodiment, the first array of antenna elements and second array of antenna elements are arranged across three vertically arranged columns. At least a first array of antenna elements includes at least some of said plurality of radiating elements on each one of the columns operating together to produce a first antenna beam. At least a second array of antenna elements includes at least some other of the plurality of radiating elements on each one of the columns so as to operate together to produce a second antenna beam. As such, each of the three vertically arranged columns include at least some elements from both the first array and the second array.

End antenna elements are tilted at a higher angle than regular antenna elements. Abstract: An omni-directional small cell base station antenna includes at least one array of a first frequency on a lower portion of the antenna, at least one second array of a second frequency on an upper portion of the antenna, and at least one third array of a third frequency on the upper portion of the antenna. The second frequency is higher than the first frequency, and the third frequency is higher than the second frequency. The at least one second array at a second frequency includes a plurality of reflector plates with antenna elements of the second frequency thereon, and the at least one third array at a third frequency includes a plurality of reflector plates with antenna elements of the third frequency thereon. The reflector plates of the at least one second array are interspersed between the reflector plates of the at least one third array such that the reflector plates of the second and third arrays alternate around the circumference of the upper portion of the antenna.

Abstract: Systems and devices relating to dipole antennas. The beamwidth of a crossed dipole antenna is widened by providing a parasitic monopole antenna adjacent to the crossed dipole antenna. In one configuration, each arm of the crossed dipole antenna has, adjacent to it, a parasitic monopole antenna. In another configuration, the crossed dipole antenna is surrounded by a number of other crossed dipole antennas acting as parasitic monopole antenna elements. The center or primary crossed dipole antenna can be for low band signals while the secondary crossed dipole antennas are for high band signals.

Abstract: A multi-band generalized antenna architecture using two or more types of antenna element is presented. Linear arrays of a first type of antenna element are used for one or more frequencies while a second antenna element type is used for other frequencies. The second type of antenna element is located between the linear arrays of the first antenna element type. The second antenna element type may be arranged in a staggered configuration or they may be arranged as linear arrays as well. The first type of antenna element may be a patch antenna element while the second type of antenna element may be a dipole antenna element. The patch antenna element may be used for high band frequencies while the dipole antenna element may be used in low band frequencies. The spacing in vertical direction is not equal to minimize the effect of arrays on each other.

Abstract: A cellular beamforming base station antenna is provided having a reflector, a plurality of signal ports located at the bottom of said reflector, a calibration circuit, a plurality of beamformers, coupled to the signal ports, and a plurality of radiating elements, coupled to the beamformers. The plurality of radiating elements are arranged into a plurality of vertically aligned columns disposed across a width of the reflector, the plurality of radiating elements are each also positioned in one of a plurality of horizontally aligned rows along the length of the reflector. Elements in one of the plurality of rows of elements are connected to at least a first of the plurality of beamformers. Elements in another of the plurality of rows of elements are connected to a second of the plurality of beamformers. Outputs of the first and second beamformers are connected to the calibration circuit which is connected to different ports located on a bottom of the reflector.
