Abstract:
An agricultural harvesting machine includes a feeder housing and a cutting platform. The cutting platform includes a center platform section carried by the feeder housing. A first wing platform section extends laterally from one side of the center platform section, and a second wing platform section extends laterally from another side of the center platform section. A height control system includes a lift cylinder coupled with the feeder housing, a first tilt cylinder coupled between the center platform section and the first wing platform section, and a second tilt cylinder coupled between the center platform section and the second wing platform section. The lift cylinder, first tilt cylinder and second tilt cylinder are automatically adjusted independent from each other during harvesting operation of the cutting platform.
Abstract:
A cutting platform for use with an agricultural harvesting machine includes at least one platform section having a frame, a plurality of float arms movably coupled with the frame, an endless belt carried by the plurality of float arms, a cutterbar assembly carried by the plurality of float arms, and a plurality of crop ramps extending from the cutterbar assembly. The plurality of crop ramps are movable relative to each other and overly a leading edge of the endless belt. The endless belt and the cutterbar assembly are movable in a localized manner across the cutting platform in upwards and downwards directions.
Abstract:
A cutting platform for use with an agricultural harvesting machine includes a plurality of platform sections, with each platform section including a leading edge. At least one platform section includes a cutterbar assembly movable in a localized manner in upwards and downwards directions, an endless belt, and a plurality of belt guides positioned partially above the endless belt adjacent the leading edge. The belt guides are movable relative to each other.

Abstract:
A pickup reel for a harvesting platform including a reel support structure with a reel shaft rotatably supported thereon. A plurality of radially extending arms are mounted to the reel shaft and a plurality of transverse rockshafts are mounted to the radially extending arms and are axially offset and parallel to the reel shaft and span the width of the platform. Radial fingers are mounted on each rockshaft. A cam is mounted to the support structure adjacent one or both ends of the rockshafts and defines an endless cam path about the reel shaft. A crank arm attached to each rockshaft carries a cam follower that engages the cam path for following along the path. The cam path is configured to cause the crank arms, and thus the rockshafts, to rotate about the respective rockshaft axis to vary the attitude of the fingers relative to the ground as the cam followers move along the cam path. The cam is segmented, having two or more cam segments joined together to form the endless cam path. The cam segments are joined together by removable fasteners to enable one segment to be removed and replaced to either vary the cam path or to replace a worn cam segment.

A cutting platform for use with an agricultural harvesting machine includes a plurality of platform sections positioned in end-to-end juxtaposed relation to each other. At least one platform section includes a frame, a plurality of float arms movably coupled with the frame, an endless belt carried by the plurality of float arms, and a cutterbar assembly carried by the plurality of float arms and movable in a localized manner in upwards and downwards directions.
Abstract:
A harvesting assembly is provided with a transverse feed auger for directing harvested crop material into a feederhouse. The feed auger is also provided with retractable fingers. The retractable fingers are freely rotatably mounted on a finger timing shaft located in the feed auger. A feed auger torque sensor is mounted to the feed auger and communicates an actual feed auger torque signal to a controller. The controller is provided with a memory having a maximum desired feed auger torque signal. When the actual feed auger torque signal exceeds the maximum desired feed auger torque signal, the feed auger drive is disengaged. A timing shaft torque sensor is mounted to the finger timing shaft and communicates an actual timing shaft torque signal to the controller. The memory of the controller is provided with a maximum desired timing shaft torque signal. When the actual timing shaft torque signal exceeds the maximum desired timing shaft torque signal a brake is applied to the feed auger.
