    Abstract: A method of managing a telecommunications network, the telecommunications network having a first user and a second user, the method comprising the step of: ascertaining a competitive characteristic associated with the first user and a competitive characteristic associated with the second user (210); comparing the ascertained competitive characteristics (220); identifying whether there is a disparity between the competitive characteristics that exceeds a threshold (230), thereby to identify a competitive advantage associated with the first or second user; and if it is identified that the disparity exceeds the threshold, adapting a network configuration of a network connection associated with the first user so as to offset the competitive advantage associated with the first or second user (240).

    Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a method in a cellular telecommunications network, and a device for implementing the method, in which one or more network nodes are configured to implement a plurality of network slices, the method including identifying requirement data indicating a network requirement for one or more metrics for a User Equipment, UE, to access a service of a service provider; identifying network slice capability data for a first and second network slice, the network slice capability data for the first network slice indicating the first network slice's capability for the one or more metrics and the network slice capability data for the second network slice indicating the second network slice's capability for the one or more metrics; comparing the requirement data to at least one of the network slice capability data for the first network slice and the network slice capability data for the second network slice; determining that the UE should access the service using the first network slice based on the comparison; and initiating a connection of the UE to the first network slice.

    Abstract: A method (200) of operating a telecommunications network (100), said telecommunications network comprising a cellular telecommunications network (100-1) and a non-cellular telecommunications network (100-2), wherein both of said networks are accessible to a User Equipment (110), UE, the method comprising the steps of: establishing a network connection between the UE and the cellular telecommunications network via the non-cellular telecommunications network (210); obtaining, by means of the cellular telecommunications network, a: unique cellular subscriber identity associated with the UE and for accessing the cellular telecommunications network; and network address associated with the UE and for use with the non-cellular telecommunications network for the network connection (220); generating an identifier for identifying the UE to the non-cellular telecommunications network (230); generating, by means of the cellular telecommunications network, a mapping between the: identifier; unique cellular subscriber identity; and the network address; and receiving, at the non-cellular telecommunications network, based on the generated mapping, the identifier in association with the network address (240).
