摘要: A copolyester resin comprises the reaction product of at least two aliphatic diols and at least two aromatic diacids or diesters comprising a naphthalene-based monomer and terephthalic-based monomer and has a glass transition temperature between about 65° C. and about 95° C. A coating comprises a copolyester resin comprising the reaction product of at least two aliphatic diols and at least one aromatic diacid or diester comprising the naphthalene-based monomer; a cross-linker; and metal catalyst. The coating composition may be solvated and provides excellent retort resistance, flexibility, chemical resistance, and ability to bond to metal substrates, including tin-plated steel. The copolyester resin may be food grade compliant and alcohol compliant, making it suitable for use as a can coating, especially for beverages and even alcoholic beverages with no restrictions on the alcohol content.

摘要: A semicrystalline copolyester resin composition formed by twin screw extrusion of various ingredients includes copolyester resins, antiblock, slip and antifog additives. This semicrystalline copolyester resin can be extruded on to PET film or coextruded with PET resin to form clear PET films with antifog properties. These films with antifog properties are produced in a single step without the use of solvent and does not involve any secondary step for coating a separate antifog layer. This minimizes the cost and time required by a converter to make such clear antifog films. These films containing the heat seal copolyester resin can be heat sealed to clear APET trays. Contents within the trays, such as food, can be seen without fogging on the inside of the film that is used to seal the tray. The seals are strong and the peels are smooth giving a very good packaging performance.

摘要: A hot melt adhesive comprises a polylactide homopolymer or copolymer, such as polylactic acid; sulfonated copolyester; and at least one plasticizer, and is compostable. The plasticizer may be a solid plasticizer, such as a benzoate, and a second plasticizer may also be used. The adhesive is suitable for use in a variety of applications, such as case and carton applications, use with burlap or other compostable substrates for tree bulbs or plant seeds, and use with other compostable films, and is especially appropriate for dual-walled paperboard beverage cups. The adhesive demonstrates good bond performance comparable to non-compostable adhesives over a range of temperatures, reflective of the temperatures of hot and cold beverages.
