摘要: Asymmetric sectioned mirrors are presented. The mirrors include, for example, constant radius of curvature sections that are selected to increase the sizes and improve the definitions of images, for example images of children milling, walking and/or standing about either the front or alongside regions of a school bus. The mirrors may be asymmetric in either or both the horizontal and vertical directions. The mirrors may include a mounting system capable of using both ball mounts and tunnel mounts.

摘要: A multi-function vehicle mirror control system includes at least one mirror assembly having at least one first mirror and at least one second mirror. Each of the mirrors have one or more motors to tilt and/or pan the mirror, and/or at least one heating element. The system also includes a control input device having a plurality of selectable controls to select the mirror assembly, the first mirror, the second mirror, and/or the heating element. In some embodiments, the controller controls selection, activation, and/or movement of the mirror assembly, the first mirror and/or the second mirror. In some embodiments, the system includes an orientation switch used to determine a selection orientation of the multi-function vehicle mirror control system. Additional alternative embodiments are also disclosed.

摘要: A light source along the mirror mounting arm of a school bus or other passenger vehicle to reduce the risk of people or other objects being injured by the school bus. The light source may be mounted directly on the mirror mounting arm or embedded within a mirror mount. The light source may be focused downward to illuminate the ground and may provide vehicle status information and guiding information. Additionally the light source may sweep the ground back and forth or be directed under the control of the driver. The light source may be activated automatically when movement is detected near the vehicle.

摘要: A system and method for simultaneously and continuously capturing video from the interior and exterior of a vehicle. The system includes, for example, a first housing including a first connection mechanism, first and second cameras and a memory disposed in the first housing. The system also includes a second housing including a second connection mechanism adapted to be removably connected to the first connection mechanism of the first housing and encasing said first housing within the second housing. A mounting mechanism is adjustably connected to said second housing and configured to maintain at least one of the first camera and the second camera in a predetermined position by adjusting the second housing. Additional embodiments are also described including a method for capturing data.
