摘要: A rigid gas permeable prepolymer comprising a reaction product of (a) a rigid gas permeable-forming prepolymer comprising (i) monomeric units derived from a bulky siloxane monomer containing an ethylenically unsaturated reactive end group, and (ii) monomeric units derived from a hydrophilic monomer having one or more reactive functionalities and an ethylenically unsaturated reactive end group, and (b) a monomer having a reactive functionality complementary to one of the one or more reactive functionalities of the hydrophilic monomer and a polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated reactive end group complementary to an ethylenically unsaturated reactive group of a rigid gas permeable contact lens-forming comonomer. Rigid gas permeable contact lenses formed from the rigid gas permeable prepolymers are also disclosed.

摘要: An ophthalmic device for slowing, inhibiting or preventing myopia progression which is a polymerization product of a monomeric mixture comprising (a) greater than 50 wt. %, based on the total weight of the monomeric mixture, of one or more non-silicone-containing hydrophilic monomers; (b) one or more crosslinking agents; and (c) one or more red-light blocking compounds blocking greater than 5% to about 25% of red-light transmission through the ophthalmic device at a wavelength of from about 550 nm to about 800 nm, wherein the one or more red-light blocking compounds have one or more ethylenically unsaturated reactive end groups.

摘要: A method for preparing an ophthalmic device for slowing, inhibiting or preventing myopia progression involves (a) soaking an ophthalmic device in one or more first solvent solutions to swell the ophthalmic device; (b) soaking the swelled ophthalmic device in one or more second solvents solutions comprising one or more red-light blocking compounds blocking greater than about 5% to about 25% of red-light transmission through the ophthalmic device at a wavelength of from about 550 nanometers (nm) to about 800 nm to de-swell the swelled ophthalmic device and entrap the one or more red-light blocking compounds in the de-swelled ophthalmic device; and (c) sterilizing the de-swelled ophthalmic device.

摘要: A method for preparing an ophthalmic device for slowing, inhibiting or preventing myopia progression involves contacting an ophthalmic device having one or more reactive functional groups with one or more red-light blocking compounds having one or more reactive functional groups complementary to the one or more reactive functional groups of the ophthalmic device in a basic solution for a time period sufficient to covalently bond at least one reactive functional group of the ophthalmic device with at least one reactive functional group of the one or more red-light blocking compounds. The one or more red-light blocking compounds block greater than about 5% to about 25% of red-light transmission through the ophthalmic device at a wavelength of from about 550 nanometers (nm) to about 800 nm.
