摘要: Low profile, thin panels using a layer of clear cast polymer with a reflective, mirrored backing and edges and a light diffusing face sheet, carrying light sources using fiber optic lenses or diodes on all or any sides thereof. The reflective sides direct the light beams generated at the edges toward the center and opposing sides, reflecting light beams within the cast plate, diffusing the light towards the open surface. Overall thickness of the panels is not more than ½″ and light sources are inserted into the edging before a liquid polymer mix is cast over them, to create an integral element upon curing. The liquid polymer mix, with any additives to deliver different colors, is poured into a tray with reflective inner surface and side edges, which houses the light sources. The finished panels may have framing to cover any wiring or exposed edges.

摘要: Light weight structural wall panels are made of two layers of load bearing skins, separated by a light-weight concrete, using expanded materials such as Perlite, Pulverized Fuel Ash, Styrene or foam cement to form a sandwiched construction for structural strength. The load-bearing skins, which are sprayed into a mold, are made of glass fiber, sand and cement matrix in different thickness and mix ratios. All edges of the encapsulated panels are made of the same GFRC matrix. The distance between GFRC inner & outer layers dictates the required structural strength of overall finished panel to resist wind & earthquake loadings. The sprayed layers and the core are made/cast while the concrete is green, before its initial setting-time to ensure structural integrity of components after curing.

摘要: A low profile light panel illuminated by a multiple point light sources arranged around its edges, which may be either light emitting diodes connected to an electrical power source or lenses connected by optical fibers to a central light source to provide backlighting. The point light sources are mounted in mirrored edging strips and angled slightly downwards towards a reflective backing sheet, and a diffuser sheet is placed in opposition to the backing sheet to diffuse the reflected light. The diffuser sheet may be covered by a further sheet with cut out numerals and/or letters acting as a mask, for example to display a house number or other alpha-numerical message. Alternatively, the light panel may be employed as a picture frame to provide backlighting to a picture.

摘要: An electrical connector for connecting multiple light emitting diodes (LEDs) in parallel to a two-wire electrical supply bus, made up of upper and lower halves that snap together and contact pins that pass through holes in the upper half to make insulation displacement connections with the conductors of the supply bus. Assemblies including large numbers of LEDs are made by snapping connectors onto the bus, inserting contacts into the connectors, and connecting LEDs to the contact pins, although not necessarily in that order. The contact pins may be hollow to receive the LED leads. Also, the positions of the holes in the upper halves of the connectors, and therefore of the contact pins, may be staggered, so that the spacing between the contacts can be made equal to the pitch between the leads of the LEDs without spacing the conductors of the supply bus further apart.

摘要: An emergency signaling device and method which uses a separable base unit which is adapted to be releasably connected to a standard smartphone or cell phone. The devices and methods of the inventive alarm system can be used with any smartphone or other mobile telephonic device. The base unit is essentially a separate housing which is sized to partially (or totally) contain known sizes and shapes of smartphones, and may be made model specific. The unit includes a rechargeable battery section, the battery section serving to power the base unit, and to selectively charge the battery of the attached smartphone. In an emergency situation, the user can push a panic button, the button causing the smartphone to dial a predesignated emergency number while simultaneously taking a photo, processing location data, and producing a sharp audio alarm signal. When the receiving phone/emergency contact receives the call, the location information and photo are simultaneously transmitted. The battery section is robust enough to power the smartphone and the emergency audio function, while still having sufficient reserve power to optionally charge the smartphone.
