    Abstract: A Method and Apparatus for multi-SIM operation during handover is provided. The method includes receiving from a base station a first RRCReconfiguration, transmitting to the base station a UEAssistanceInformation, starting the first timer after initiating transmission of UEAssistanceInformation, receiving from the base station a second RRCReconfiguration and starting the second timer before initiating random access procedure. The first RRCReconfiguration includes a configuration information related to terminal state transition, the configuration information related to terminal state transition includes a information for a first timer, the first timer is a timer related to terminal state transition. The UEAssistanceInformation includes a information related to terminal's state. The second RRCReconfiguration includes a ReconfigurationWithSync, the ReconfigurationWithSync includes a information for a second timer related to handover. The first timers stops if the second timer expires while the first timer is running. The second timers stops if the first timer expires while the second timer is running.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus to enhance uplink coverage is provided. Method for enhancing uplink coverage includes receiving a SIB1 and performing a random access procedure with preamble repetition in case that Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) of downlink pathloss reference is less than at least one of one or more thresholds related to preamble repetition. The SIB1 comprises a set of parameters related to system information scheduling and a set of parameters related to uplink configuration. Random access resource indicated in the set of parameters related to system information scheduling is used in case that the random access procedure is triggered for System Information (SI) request. Random access resource indicated in the set of parameters related to uplink configuration is used in case that the random access procedure is triggered for data transmission.
