Abstract: A blood control standard is prepared from anticoagulant stored blood plasma containing elevated levels of dextrose by aerobic fermentation with yeast in the late log phase or in the stationery phase of the yeast growth to selectively destroy dextrose without adversely affecting the protein constituents of said blood plasma.
