    Abstract: A method for detecting leaks in a pipe in a system including a processor and at least one sensor installed on the pipe, may include generating, by the processor, a plurality of signals based on measurements from the at least one sensor. The method may include calculating, by the processor, at least two cross correlations from the plurality of signals. Each cross correlation may correspond to two of the plurality of signals. The method may include calculating, by the processor, a signal to noise ratio (SNR) of each of the at least two cross correlations. The method may include selecting, by the processor, a cross correlation that has a greatest SNR among the at least two cross correlations. The method may include detecting a leak in the pipe based on the selected cross correlation.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring pressure transients and pipe bursts in a pipeline network are provided. The system can include a pressure sensor for measuring pressure in a pipe and generating a pressure signal, and a hydrophone for detecting a change of the pressure and generating a hydrophone signal. The system can include a high pass filter that can filter a portion of the hydrophone signal corresponding to a particular frequency. The system can include a comparator that generates an interrupt signal when the hydrophone signal satisfies a threshold value. The system can include a microcontroller which stays in a sleep mode until receiving the interrupt signal. The microcontroller can switch on the pressure sensor to record the pressure signal generated by the pressure sensor after being woken up.
