摘要： A process for increasing the amount of isolatable products in a by-product stream generated in the production of 1,6 hexanediol includes combining the by-product stream with water to form a combination of the water and the by-product stream; and reacting the combination at a temperature between about 250.degree. C. to about 400.degree. C. at a pressure from about 1,000 psig to about 3,000 psig to form one or more reaction products.
