    摘要: A floating connector is provided. The connector has a mating interface configured to move so as to align with a mating component. The connector has a housing having the mating interface. Conductors held by the housing may have mating contact portions adjacent the mating interface for connecting to the mating component when inserted into the mating interface. The connector may have a frame configured to be fixed to a board to which the connector is mounted. The housing is configured to be movable in the frame. The connector may have elastic positioning members disposed between the housing and the frame, such that the elastic positioning members enable the housing to move within the frame for properly aligning the mating interface with a mating component and bias the housing to return to an initial position when the mating component is removed.

    摘要: A connector for use with high-speed signals. The connector includes conductors held in a housing having a slot for receiving a mating component. Each conductor has a mating end curving into the slot and a mounting end extending out of the housing. The connector has a conductive shell at least partially enclosing the housing. The conductive shell covers one or more sides of the slot and substantially overlaps the mounting ends viewing from a top of the mounting interface to provide shielding to the mating and mounting interfaces. The conductive shell is coupled to ground through ground conductors of the connector. The connector has a lossy member disposed adjacent the mounting interface and coupled to the ground conductors. Such a configuration meets signal integrity requirements in connectors designed for 32 Gbps and beyond, while conforming to a standard that constrains mating and mounting interfaces.

    摘要: High density card edge connectors with hybrid interface for both signal and power transmissions. The connectors can provide both high-quality, high-speed signal transmission and high power transmission, while being backward compatible with physical requirements set by already defined industry standards (e.g., current version of SFF-TA-1002—Rev 1.3). A connector can have a type of conductive elements configured for high speed signal transmission (e.g., up to 112 GT/s), and another type of conductive elements configured for high power transmission (e.g., up to 200 W) while still satisfying the requirements on the quality of signals transmitted by the signal conductive elements at high speed. The connector housing can have multiple ports and wider channels in at least one port, such that signal and power conductive elements can be disposed in a same port with the power conductive elements disposed in the wider channels and signal conductive elements disposed outside the wider channels.

    摘要: A reusable member configured to retain and release an add-in card to and from a motherboard without additional tools and/or processes. The add-in card has an end inserted into a connector mounted on the motherboard and another end distal from the connector. The member has a retaining portion configured to extend through the distal end of the first circuit board, and a mounting portion configured to extend through an opening of the second circuit board. The retaining portion has a sub-portion configured to move between a first position for retaining the add-in card and a second position for releasing the first circuit board. The mounting portion has a sub-portion disposed and secured in the opening of the motherboard when the member is inserted. Such a configuration enables reusing the member with circuit boards of various dimensions, without additional tools and/or processes.
