Abstract:
User equipment measure a characteristic of a multicast signal or a broadcast signal at a physical layer of user equipment for a multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) area associated with the user equipment. The user equipment provide a value of the measured characteristic from the user equipment in response to the value indicating that a probability of an application layer decoding error exceeds a first threshold. The measured characteristic may be a block error rate (BLER) or a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) for the multicast signal or the broadcast signal.

Abstract:
An object of the invention is providing methods, apparatuses and a system for determining connection state assistive parameters. Compared with the prior art, according to the present invention, the core network element obtains the connection release time information and radio access network assistance information corresponding to the user equipment sent by the e NB, and when the user equipment transmits a request for network access service to the core network element, the core network element determines core network assistance information corresponding to the request for network access service based on the aforementioned information, and then transmits the core network assistance information to the e NB to act as connection state assistive parameters corresponding to the user equipment. Thereby, the present invention may enable the e NB to adjust/optimize the connection state assistive parameters corresponding to the e NB and the user equipment through providing ore network assistance information to the e NB by the core network element, reduce the transitions frequency between the idle state and the connection state, minimize transmission of network signaling, and reduce user equipment power consumption.
Abstract:
At least one example embodiment discloses a network control entity including a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a first message from a gateway if a user equipment (UE) is in a first data transmission mode having a first bearer path and the gateway has downlink user plane data for the UE associated with a second transmission mode, the first message identifying the base station serving the UE, and send a page request to the serving base station, the page request identifying the UE and instructing the serving base station to initiate a transition to the second data transmission mode for the UE, the second data transmission mode including a second bearer path between the UE and the network, the second bearer path and the first bearer path being different.
Abstract:
A user equipment method, user equipment, a base station method, a base station and computer program products are disclosed. The user equipment method, comprises in response to a radio resource control connection re-establishment procedure being initiated when operating in a dual-connectivity mode, retaining configuration information of at least one data bearer utilised in the dual-connectivity mode for subsequent re-use. In this way, rather than losing all the data radio bearer configuration during the RRC connection re-establishment procedure, some of this bearer configuration is retained so that it may be subsequently re-used, thereby improving the speed and efficiency of the RRC connection re-establishment procedure.
Abstract:
A method is described for the support of nomadic or fixed users in a mobile network. The mobile network may include a Core Network CN accessed by a Radio Access Network RAN. The mobile network may provide connectivity, referred to as PDN connectivity, between an User Equipment UE and at least one external network, referred to as Packet Data Network PDN, via a selected one of mobile network nodes associated with the PDN and referred to as PDN Gateway PDN GW. The method may include support of a nomadic or fixed user in a mode of operation referred to as non-mobile mode of operation wherein the selected PDN GW, referred to as local PDN GW, is co-located with a RAN node serving the UE, based on knowledge of the user's mobility pattern.
Abstract:
A user equipment method, user equipment, a base station method, a base station and computer program products. The user equipment method, comprises: on reception of a trigger instructing modification of an access stratum radio bearer, preventing release of an associated non-access stratum bearer. In this way, when an access stratum or data radio bearer is instructed to be modified (as may occur when security credentials for that bearer need to be updated), the associated non-access stratum bearer may be retained in order to allow a update in security credentials to occur without disrupting communication or losing data.
Abstract:
A secondary base station method, secondary base station, master base station method, master base station and computer program products are disclosed. The secondary base station method comprises: upon it being determined that the secondary base station is to perform a protocol layer re-establishment, permitting continued transmission of data packets to user equipment over the secondary base station bearer. In this way, service interruption can be minimized since pending data packets may continue to be transmitted while the re-establishment takes, which minimizes service interruption and reduces the number of data packets which will need to be retransmitted.

Abstract:
A device, such as user equipment, to transmit a preamble in a preamble resource to indicate one or more communication resources for a device-to-device (D2D) communication channel and transmit voice or data over the D2D communication channel using the one or more communication resources in response to absence of an indication of a collision in the preamble resource. User equipment may also detect a preamble in a preamble resource that indicates the one or more communication resources for a device-to-device (D2D) communication channel and monitor the one or more communication resources for D2D communication in response to detecting the preamble in the preamble resource.
