摘要: An apparatus includes imaging units, each including: a light source to emit light; and an image sensor to pick up an image of a medium to be moved relatively between the imaging units. The light source of one of the imaging units is provided at a position where a direct light is guided to the image sensor of the other imaging unit, and the image sensor of the other imaging unit is configured to pick up an image for image formation when a reflected light emitted from the light source of the other imaging unit and reflected by the medium is guided to the image sensor of the other imaging unit, and to pick up an image for edge detection when the direct light is guided to the image sensor of the other imaging unit, and an edge of the medium is detected based on the image for edge detection.
