Abstract: Systems and methods for image editing are described. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an image editing system for performing image object replacement or image region replacement (e.g., an image editing system for replacing an object or region of an image with an object or region from another image). For example, the image editing system may replace a sky portion of an image with a more desirable sky portion from a different replacement image. According to some embodiments described herein, thumbnails, region location information, and image metadata from multiple preset images can be stored together and loaded for presentation and selection of a preset image for replacing a region of an image. Once a preset image (e.g., an image with a replacement sky) is selected, a high-resolution version of the image can be loaded and used to generate a composite image.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, method, and computer readable media that iteratively apply a neural network to a digital image at a reduced resolution to automatically identify pixels of salient objects portrayed within the digital image. For example, the disclosed systems can generate a reduced-resolution digital image from an input digital image and apply a neural network to identify a region corresponding to a salient object. The disclosed systems can then iteratively apply the neural network to additional reduced-resolution digital images (based on the identified region) to generate one or more reduced-resolution segmentation maps that roughly indicate pixels of the salient object. In addition, the systems described herein can perform post-processing based on the reduced-resolution segmentation map(s) and the input digital image to accurately determine pixels that correspond to the salient object.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media that generate preliminary object masks for objects in an image, surface the preliminary object masks as object mask previews, and on-demand converts preliminary object masks into refined object masks. Indeed, in one or more implementations, an object mask preview and on-demand generation system automatically detects objects in an image. For the detected objects, the object mask preview and on-demand generation system generates preliminary object masks for the detected objects of a first lower resolution. The object mask preview and on-demand generation system surfaces a given preliminary object mask in response to detecting a first input. The object mask preview and on-demand generation system also generates a refined object mask of a second higher resolution in response to detecting a second input.

Abstract: Techniques for performing a digital operation on a digital image are described along with methods and systems employing such techniques. According to the techniques, an input (e.g., an input stroke) is received by, for example, a processing system. Based upon the input, an area of the digital image upon which a digital operation (e.g., for removal of a distractor within the area) is to be performed is determined. In an implementation, one or more metrics of an input stroke are analyzed, typically in real time, to at least partially determine the area upon which the digital operation is to be performed. In an additional or alternative implementation, the input includes a first point, a second point and a connector, and the area is at least partially determined by a location of the first point relative to a location of the second point and/or by locations of the first point and/or second point relative to one or more edges of the digital image.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for determining whether a derived attribute from a request is stored at a derived attribute cache. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems obtain the derived attribute from artificial-intelligence models if the derived attribute is unavailable at the derived attribute cache. If the derived attribute is available at the derived attribute cache, the disclosed system returns the derived attribute in response to a request without having the artificial-intelligence models rederive the attribute.
