Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to modeling radio wave propagation in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include, for a network application, identifying, by a system comprising a processor, a first performance characteristic of first base station equipment, wherein the first base station equipment is actively communicating with a user equipment via a first network connection. The method can further include, based on the first performance characteristic being in a condition in relation to a first threshold, determining, by the system, to execute a handover of the user equipment to a second network connection with second base station equipment, resulting in a handover determination. Further, the method can include, based on the handover determination, facilitating, by the system, executing the handover of the user equipment to the second network connection.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process or apparatus for receiving, by a processing system including a processor, cell traffic reports for cells of a radio communication network, performing a reconfiguration analysis to identify reconfiguration information to reconfigure the radio communication network according to changing network conditions, and communicating the reconfiguration information defining a new cell configuration for the cells of the radio communication network and communicating information defining a new reconfiguration time for the cells to substantially synchronously switch to communicating according to the reconfiguration information. The receiving the cell traffic reports, the performing the reconfiguration analysis and the communicating the reconfiguration information occur in substantially real time. Other embodiments are disclosed.

For example, a method described herein can include, for a network application, identifying, by a system comprising a processor, a user equipment communicatively coupled to base station equipment via a first network connection implementing a first radio access technology and a second network connection implementing a second radio access technology. The method can further include identifying, by the system, performance characteristics of the first network connection and the second network connection. Further, the method can include, based on the first performance characteristic and the second performance characteristic, facilitating, by the system, allocating, to the user equipment, power for uplink transmission by the first network connection and the second network connection, resulting in an uplink power allocation.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards wireless communications for vehicle collision response. Devices onboard vehicles can wirelessly exchange information in response to detecting a collision. Public encryption keys can be exchanged, and exchanged information can optionally be encrypted using a received public encryption key. Exchanged information can include vehicle identification information and collision information. The collision information can furthermore be certified using a vehicle's private encryption key.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards dynamic spread spectrum (DSS) deployments, in which two cells such as an LTE cell and a new radio (NR) cell share available physical resource blocks. In one implementation, the LTE cell and NR cell each periodically report spectral efficiency data and pending packet data to a controller, such as a RAN intelligent controller, or RIC. The controller uses the reported data, possibly along with biasing weight data, to allocate the total number of available shared spectrum resource blocks to the LTE and NR cells, for use in scheduling their respective user equipment communications until the next reporting period. The resource blocks allocated to the LTE cell do not collide with the resource blocks allocated to the NR cell, such as by top-down, bottom-up frequency division, or via an allocation bitmap sent to each cell.
