Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations including: obtaining, by a first computer system, source data for transmission to a second computer system; generating, by the first computer system, first semantically encoded data representing the source data, wherein the first semantically encoded data is generated based on (i) a first computer knowledge base stored locally by the first computer system, and (ii) a second computer knowledge base shared between the first computer system and the second computer system; decoding, by the first computer system, the first semantically encoded data based on the second computer knowledge base to generate semantically decoded data; comparing, by the first computer system, the source data and the semantically decoded data; and selectively transmitting, by the first computer system, a pilot signal to the second computer system based on the comparison between the source data and the semantically decoded data.

Abstract: A method performed by a client device is provided. The method includes obtaining, by a client device, data for transmission to a network server. The method includes determining, by the client device, a plurality of intermediate network nodes for transmission of the data, wherein the plurality of the intermediate network nodes are communicatively coupled to the network server. The method includes encoding, by the client device, the data using an encoding scheme. The method includes transmitting, by the client device and according to a data transmission scheme, a plurality of instances of the encoded data to the plurality of intermediate network nodes for aggregation by the intermediate network nodes with data received from one or more other client devices. Also provided are methods performed by an intermediate network node and a network server. The methods can be performed by one or more processors of an apparatus.

Abstract: A primary device may run a software application requiring a compute task. The primary device may receive statistics from a set of secondary devices over wireless communication links. The primary device may process the statistics to determine whether the compute task will be offloaded to the secondary devices or performed locally. The primary device may generate a distribution scheme for the secondary devices based on the statistics. This may involve modeling first delays associated with transmission of signals from the primary device to the secondary devices, second delays associated with transmission of compute results from the secondary devices to the primary device, and third delays associated with processing resources of the secondary devices. The optimized distribution scheme may minimize overall runtime of the compute task given the modeled delays, scheduling grants for the secondary devices, and a radio resource allocation for the secondary devices.

Abstract: An application layer in a device, a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer in the device, and/or a media access control (MAC) layer in the device may determine that wireless communication resources allocated to the device need to be adjusted. The determination may be in response to detecting that a quality of the wireless connection of the device has deteriorated, or it may be based on advance knowledge of information pertaining to an application layer payload in the device. In response to the determination the device may transmit, in a MAC Control Element (MAC CE) to a base station, a request for an adjustment of the allocated wireless communication resources. The adjustment may lead to a temporary boost of resources for a limited period of time or to a persistent update of the allocated wireless communication resources. To allow better scheduling of multiple QoS flows mapped to the same DRB and better selection of data when constructing a MAC Packet Data Unit (PDU), a mapping between QoS flows and LCHs may also be provided to the MAC layer.

Abstract: Machines or networked devices such as internet of things (IoT) devices operate to generate an unlicensed narrowband (U-NB) IoT communication based on time domain multiple carrier aggregation operations with component carriers. These component carriers can comprise a component carrier that is anchored to a long term evolution (LTE) licensed band, or entirely comprise unlicensed carrier components that are unanchored to the LTE component carrier in a standalone configuration. Communication circuitry such as a radio frequency interface can transmit the U-NB IoT communication in standalone communications over a low power IoT network in an unlicensed band.
