Abstract: Techniques are generally described for causal impact estimation using machine learning. A first machine learning model is trained using non-treatment variables during training. A second machine learning model uses learned weights from the first machine learning model for non-treatment variables and is trained on one or more treatment variables. The second machine learning model estimates outcomes based on the presence or absence of an event represented by the treatment variable. Selection bias is reduced by warm-starting the second machine learning model with non-treatment variable weights learned during training of the first machine learning model.

Abstract: A vibration amplification and detection device may include a coiled diaphragm coupled to a pin that is also coupled to a substrate. The coiled diaphragm may be coupled to the pin via at least one axle and a fulcrum disc, and the vibration detection device may be coupled to a surface via the substrate. Responsive to vibration associated with or proximate the surface, the coiled diaphragm may receive and amplify the received vibration. In addition, a sensor associated with the vibration detection device may capture or detect the received and amplified vibration. Further, the detected vibration may be processed and compared with known vibrations and associated properties. Moreover, one or more actions may be instructed based on the detected vibration and associated properties.

Abstract: Techniques for generating an automated guide for exploring content of a content streaming platform based on inferred intent are described herein. For example, click stream data from interactions with a content streaming platform during a session, along with historical click stream data of historical interactions with the content streaming platform during historical sessions may be obtained. A score for each piece of content from a plurality of content offered by the content streaming platform may be determined based on the click stream data and the historical click stream data. The plurality of content may be ranked based on the associated scores for each piece of content. Media content may be generated that includes a portion of an associated trailer from a subset of the ranked plurality of content based on the score for each piece of content of the subset. The media content may be presented via a user interface.

Abstract: A vibrometric signature for a vehicle, or a set of one or more frequencies where vibration of the vehicle is naturally observed in the presence of excitation, may be generated and used to make one or more determinations regarding the integrity or suitability of the vehicle for one or more missions. When the vehicle is subjected to excitation over a range of frequencies, images of the vehicle are captured, and power levels of vibrations of the vehicle are calculated based on the images. A vibrometric signature is generated based on the power levels of the vibrations, and compared to vibrometric signatures previously generated for the aerial vehicle, or to vibrometric signatures associated with one or more other vehicles, or anomalies experienced by such other vehicles, to determine whether the vehicle may be cleared for the performance of one or more missions, or whether maintenance or inspections are required.

Abstract: Products such as food, clothing or machines may be customized for a customer based on any preferences that may be determined from information that is known, determined or predicted regarding the customer. Where a customer's browsing, purchasing or search histories, or other data, indicate that the customer prefers (or dislikes) products having a specific ingredient or component, a product may be customized to include (or exclude) the ingredient or component, and recommended to the customer. Customized products may include food, clothing, machines or any other articles that may be fabricated with or altered to include specific components. A customized product may be marketed to a customer in any manner, and may be prepared and delivered to the customer upon request.

Abstract: Identifiers or references to supplemental information or content regarding images may be steganographically encoded into the images. The identifiers or references may be encoded into least significant bits or less significant bits of pixels within the image that may be selected on any basis. The identifiers or references may include alphanumeric characters, bar codes, symbols or other features. When an image is captured of an image having one or more identifiers or references steganographically encoded therein, the identifiers or references may be interpreted, and the supplemental information or content may be accessed and displayed on a computer display. In some embodiments, the supplemental information or content may identify and relate to a commercial product expressed in an image, and may include a link to one or more pages or functions for purchasing the commercial product.

Abstract: Directed fragmentation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is described. In one embodiment, the UAV includes various components, such one or more motors, batteries, sensors, a housing, casing or shell, and a payload for delivery. Additionally, the UAV includes a controller. The controller determines a flight path and controls a flight operation of the UAV. During the flight operation, the controller develops a release timing and a release location for one or more of the components based on the flight path, the flight conditions, and terrain topology information, among other factors. The controller can also detect a disruption in the flight operation of the UAV and, in response, direct fragmentation of one or more of the components apart from the UAV. In that way, a controlled, directed fragmentation of the UAV can be accomplished upon any disruption to the flight operation of the UAV.
