Abstract: Items may be stored on a fixture of a facility using one or more accessories, such as trays or bins. Weighing modules that include one or more load cells may be mounted to a crossbar of the fixture. The accessories of the fixture may then be mounted to the crossbar via the weighing modules. The load cells within each weighing module can collect weight data associated with items stowed in the accessories that are coupled to the weighing module. When a weight change is detected at the fixture, a particular load cell is identified as the source of the weight change. Once a load cell is identified, the accessory coupled to the load cell is identified, as well as the types of items stowed therein. Interaction data can then be determined to indicate a type of item that was added to or removed from the accessory of the fixture.

Abstract: A smart block can include a plurality of displays and configurable magnet components to selectively attract or repel other smart blocks. The smart block can include proximity sensors to identify a surface of another smart block close to the smart block to determine if the smart blocks are correctly oriented based on an application or game associated with the operation of the smart blocks. A plurality of smart blocks can be configured to display a portion of a picture (as a puzzle), such that when the smart blocks are oriented correctly they collectively display the complete picture. The smart blocks can be used in conjunction with a smart mat that is configured to move the smart blocks in response to commands received from a remote computing device. The smart blocks and the smart mat can facilitate interactivity with other, remote users, such as between a caregiver and a child.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling display of content using objects are disclosed. Objects may be placed on a surface and one or more computing devices may be configured to identify the objects, determine the shape of the objects, and/or determine the locations of the objects with respect to the surface. Content displayed on the surface may be updated based at least in part on interaction of the object with the surface, such as changing locations of the objects, object proximities, object flipping, and/or object stacking, for example.

Abstract: Shelves or other fixtures may be used to support items at a facility. Weighing modules including load cells may be used at the fixtures to acquire weight data indicative of changes to the fixture as items are added or removed from the fixture. Weighing modules may be modular and repositionable with respect to a crossbar or other supporting member that provides electrical power and data connectivity. This allows for the fixtures to be easily reconfigured to accommodate items of different sizes.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for automatically identifying endpoint devices based on differing power loads drawn by the endpoint devices. In some instances, the endpoint devices are distributed about one or more facilities, such as item handling facilities, and may comprise an array of sensors for tracking inventory items within, into, and out of these facilities. These sensors may include cameras, weight sensors, RFID readers, microphones, and the like. Further, multiple ones of these sensors may couple to a power injector (e.g., a power-over-Ethernet (POE) injector) that provides both data and power to each sensor over a cable. The power injector may in turn couple to a network switch and/or a controller, which may identify the endpoint devices based on their modulated power loads.
