Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for providing media asset recommendations to a user based on user input in real time and using a reinforcement learning model or media asset recommendation model. The model includes a plurality of states, each having a set of media asset recommendations, a plurality of available user input options, and a state value. During a browsing session, a first set of media asset recommendations is provided to a user based on a current state corresponding to the browsing session. The user then selects a user input option, and a second set of media asset recommendations is determined based on the received user input option. The second set of media asset recommendations is then provided to the user during the browsing session.

Abstract: Authentication of a user wearing a head mounted display using wireless channel characteristics, such as wireless channel sounding, is disclosed. A transmission signal from a signal transmitter passes over the face or other parts of the head of the user and is received by a signal receiver, also in, at or near the head mounted display. The input signal received is processed according to the known transmission signal that was transmitted to obtain wireless channel characteristics. Based on these wireless channel characteristics a signal signature is identified, for example, using a machine learning based embedding technique. If the signal signature thus determined matches a signal signature previously associated with the user then the user is authenticated. User access to a resource or action may then be granted automatically.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing preliminary health care screening using a head-mounted display to provide preliminary health care screening for some conditions and diseases that manifest symptoms in the eyes or in the ocular facial region around the eyes through interaction with an analysis agent. The head-mounted display is worn by a wearer and receives imaging instructions from an analysis agent. The head-mounted display generates screening images of the eyes and the ocular facial region of the wearer based upon the imaging instructions. The screening images are transmitted to the analysis agent, and in response, the head-mounted display receives further imaging instructions from the analysis agent. The further imaging instructions may include parameters for generating more images, a suggestion to contact a health care professional, and/or if pre-approved, notice that a referral has already been made to a health care professional.

Abstract: Systems and methods for guaranteeing end-to-end QoS for wireless connections over a cable network are disclosed. Provisioning of on-demand guaranteed bandwidth connection over a cable network uses mechanisms from DOCSIS domain and Wi-Fi domain. A multi-domain orchestrator is implemented to control both domains. A bandwidth request is received from a client device connecting to a network service provider access point. The bandwidth request is updated for both domains with results of speed test of the wireless link if the speed test results are lower than the bandwidth request. The orchestrator and client device negotiate the bandwidth request using a three-way handshake over PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) protocol. If the available bandwidth on either the DOCSIS or wireless link is less than the bandwidth request, the orchestrator generates a new bandwidth offer. If the client device accepts the offer, the orchestrator configures the DOCSIS and wireless links using their respective domain protocols to provision the connection with guaranteed end-to-end bandwidth.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for generating digital and physical artifacts and souvenirs. The generating is based on information generated during extended reality (XR) sessions including augmented reality, consumption of three-dimensional content, four-dimensional experiences, next-generation user interfaces, virtual reality, mixed reality experiences, and interactive experiences. Modules and sensors are provided for artifact generation. The modules and sensors may be interconnected to each other and to an XR device. The modules include an emotion module, a training module, and an artifact module. The methods and systems deliver improved artifacts for subsequent enjoyment of the XR experience. Artificial intelligence systems, including neural networks, are trained for improving the conversion. Models are developed for improving the conversion. Related apparatuses, devices, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for gesture and movement detection using wireless signals. Peer devices collaborate to detect hand and/or finger gestures. Gesture detection using one or more cooperative devices is provided. The gesture is detected cooperatively in a session. Device-to-device gesture detection improves accuracy such that fine motor gestures are inferred. Artificial intelligence systems, including neural networks, are trained for improving the gesture and movement detection. Models are developed for the gesture and movement detection. Related apparatuses, devices, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for improved delivery of foveated rendering streams for media content delivery. Received video data is separated into a high acuity (HA) stream and a low acuity (LA) stream. The HA stream is marked to indicate HA transmission. A communication device that retransmits the HA stream based on the marking transmits the HA stream at a lower latency and a higher reliability than the LA stream. A receiving device receives the HA stream and the LA stream. A display device generates for display a combined stream including the HA stream and the LA stream. Artificial intelligence systems, including neural networks, are trained for improving the foveated rendering. Models are developed for the foveated rendering. Related apparatuses, devices, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining relative position and orientation between users of an augmented or mixed reality environment are disclosed. Devices associated with different users that are close in proximity to each other are segmented in a same cluster. LOS and nLOS signals received by the device are distinguished, and LOS signals are used to determine relative position/orientation of the device segmented in the same cluster. The LOS signal (and its factors, such as direction, time of flight) received by the device is used to determine relative position of the device. An angle of arrival of the LOS signal is used to determine the device's relative orientation. Peer-to-peer packet exchanges and the angles of their arrival are also used to determine relative position and orientation between users. The determined relative position and orientation are used to render virtual objects that are anchored to an electronic device.
