The base station assigns a channel access scheme for providing channel access to service data, wherein at least a portion of the service data is assigned to one of a reserved shared channel access scheme and a superimposed channel access scheme based on one or more characteristics of the network and one or more requirements of the service data. Network resources are then allocated according to the assigned channel access scheme. The service data is then transmitted using the allocated resources.
