Abstract:
A map data distribution server that is connected to a network and distributes map data via the network is provided. The map data distribution server holds first map data and second map data that is of a newer version than the first map data and holds a plurality of update data including an instruction to update the first map data for each of partitions of a given size on a map. The map data distribution server decides whether a predetermined condition is fulfilled upon receiving an update request to update the first map data in a first partition out of the partitions to the second map data from a terminal communicating with the map data distribution server via the network, selects one of the plurality of update data relevant to the first partition, based on the result of the decision, and transmits the selected update data to the terminal.
Abstract:
A bit rate converter for converting a first encoded animation image data to a second animation image data, having a different bit rate. The converter stores an assessment value indicating the importance level within each reproduction time interval with respect to the first animation image data. Second animation image data is generated by arithmetically determining the bit rate of the second animation image data on the basis of the bit rate information on the first animation image data and the assessment value indicating the importance level within a preselected time interval with respect to the first animation image data. Accordingly, a larger amount of code is preferentially allocated to the time interval having an assessment value of higher importance level.
Abstract:
A fan-shaped scanning flaw detecting apparatus which includes a probe provided with an ultrasonic wave transmitting-and-receiving array transducer arranged along a circular arc and an acoustic lens for converging and converting an ultrasonic beam transmitted/received by the array transducer into a substantially parallel beam. The apparatus also includes a scanning function section that sequentially switches the transmitting and receiving operation of a group of operative transducer elements of the array transducer so as to make the ultrasonic beam perform fan-shaped scanning. A picturizing processor section forms a sectional image of an object to be examined on the basis of an echo signal obtained from the object to be examined and a display section displays the sectional image. A position detecting section detects a position where the ultrasonic beam is incident to the object to be examined when the probe is moved along a surface of the object to be examined. Image information of a sectional image of the object to be examined under a running path of the probe is formed by the picturizing processor section on the basis of two types of information, a first type representing the position of the ultrasonic beam incident to the object to be examined, which is obtained from the position detecting section, and a second type of information representing a position and relection intensity of the reflection source inside the object to the be examined, which is obtained on the basis of a reflection signal of a transmitted ultrasonic pulse reflected by the reflection source. The sectional image information is then read and displayed by the display section.
Abstract:
A heat-resistant ultrasonic sensor forms a piezo-electric ceramics film with a thickness of 0.5 mm or smaller and a Curie point of 200° C. or higher on a flexible metal plate. A thin metal film that is an electrode is attached to a top surface of the piezo-electric ceramics film and a metal wire mesh covers the thin metal film and is attached to a top surface of the thin metal film. A core of a heat-resistant coaxial cable is connected to the metal wire mesh at a connection point. The heat-resistant coaxial cable is fixed to the thin metal plate with a metal fixing member that is a ground portion. An electric insulating cover is attached to the thin metal plate and covers the piezo-electric ceramics film, the thin metal film, the metal wire mesh, the connection point, the fixing member, and the core of the coaxial cable.
Abstract:
A buffer monitoring section of the display device monitors a usage status of a buffer for storing video data, and transmits this usage status information to the tuner device. A remaining buffer time estimation section estimates a remaining time of video data within the buffer based on the usage status information of the buffer. A wireless bandwidth estimation section estimates the wireless bandwidth between the tuner device and the display device. A content bit rate control section controls a content bit rate of video data transmitted to the display device based on the estimated remaining time and wireless bandwidth of the video data. A content bit rate converting section changes the content bit rate of video data, and transmits the video data from the tuner device to the display device.

Abstract:
A method of connecting hollow conductors with a brazing alloy employs a measuring mechanism 10 for measuring a connecting state of a connecting portion after brazing hollow conductors. The measuring mechanism comprises a scanner 101 and a holder 19, which are separated in advance, so that the mechanism can be installed in a narrow space. A display mechanism 20 displays measuring results as tow-dimensional patterns, and the evaluation mechanism 30 evaluate the connecting portions by an area of the defects and an integral length of sound portions. A judgment mechanism 40 evaluates relative relation of the measuring results with causes-and-defects, which are previously stored, and shows the cause of the defect.
Abstract:
For providing a user a plural number of trans-coding services with using a plural number of trans-coding services, at high speed, within a home network environment, an information processing apparatus is provided with a function of providing a list of formats, on which format conversion can be made, to a home server, and a function of managing the format conversion processes with using process identifiers, which are shared in common with the server and the information processing apparatus, each of the process identifiers being tied with information of a format conversion method, wherein the format conversion is executed upon a part of contents divided within the home server, following the process identifier designated by the home server, to grasp performances of the information processing apparatuses by measuring throughput per a unit time in the format conversion, and an adjustment is made on an amount of data to be transferred from the home server to the information processing apparatus in the next time, thereby enabling high speed processing of the format conversions.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus for realizing coexistence of a high-speed editing function for contents whose copyright is protected and a defending function for limitless movement due to alteration of the contents and a defending function for an illegal process using power-off. When the contents constructed on a block unit basis is received and division-edited, block unique information as unique information corresponding to each divided block is formed. Apparatus unique information to specify the apparatus is recorded into a memory or the like. A Hash value which is formed from the formed block unique information and the apparatus unique information which has previously been stored in the memory or the like is stored.
Abstract:
In order to make it possible in ultrasonic flaw detection to generate ultrasonic waves containing a main beam only by use of an array probe and clearly identify a defect in a specimen by use of images, an element pitch P (the distance between centers of adjacent ultrasonic transducer elements in the array probe) is set longer than ¼ of the wavelength of longitudinal waves generated by the ultrasonic transducer elements and shorter than ½ of the wavelength and reception signals up to time corresponding to the sum of wall thickness round-trip propagation time for longitudinal waves and wall thickness round-trip propagation time for shear waves in the specimen are displayed.
