    摘要: A toner production process comprising the step of polymerizing a polymerizable monomer in the presence of (i) base particles containing at least a binder resin and (ii) a polymerization initiator. The polymerization initiator has in one molecule a hydrophilic moiety and a hydrophobic moiety and a reactive moiety between them, and the base particles are enlarged and/or surface-modified upon polymerization of the polymerizable monomer. Also disclosed is a toner having a circularity of from 0.92 to 1.0, which is produced by this process.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a toner which forms a high quality image, which is stable in various environments, i.e. under high humidity, or low temperature and low humidity conditions, and has a fine particle diameter as well as a sharp particle size distribution, and to a process for producing the same. The toner contains at least a binder resin and a colorant, and has (i) a number average particle diameter of from 0.5 to 6.0 .mu.m, (ii) the coefficient of variation of number distribution of not more than 20%, and (iii) a methanol-soluble resin component in an amount of 0.01-10% based on the weight of the toner, and the methanol-soluble resin component contains a polymer composition having an organic acid group, and an acid value of from 50 to 600 mgKOH/g.

    摘要: A process for producing toner particles is conducted by:preparing toner precursor particles containing at least binder resin and coloring agent; andspherizing the toner precursor particles to obtain toner particles;wherein spherizing steps include;(1) dispersing the toner precursor particles in an aqueous medium containing a dispersant, thereby preparing a disperse system (a);(2) dispersing oil droplet particles containing a softening agent into an aqueous medium, thereby preparing a disperse system (b);(3) preparing a mixed disperse system (c) by adding the disperse system (a) to the disperse system (b), and causing the softening agent to be absorbed by the toner precursor particles in the mixed disperse system (c); and(4) removing the softening agent from the toner precursor particles.

    摘要: A toner for developing electrostatic images is formed from toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant, and a wax. The binder resin comprises a vinyl polymer component and a polyester component. The binder resin contains 40-99 wt. % of a component A, 0-20 wt. % of a component B, and 0-60 wt. % of a component C, the components B and C providing totally 1-60 wt. % of the binder resin. The component A comprises low- and medium-molecular weight components having molecular weights of below 10.sup.6, and the component B comprises high-molecular weight components having molecular weights of at least 106, respectively, based on a chromatogram obtained by gel permeation chromatography of a tetrahydrofuran (THF)-soluble component of the binder resin, and the component C is a THF-insoluble component of the binder resin. The GPC chromatogram of the THF-soluble component of the binder resin exhibits a main peak in a molecular weight region of 3.times.10.sup.3 -5.times.10.sup.4. The toner particles have a shape factor SF-1 of 100-160 and a shape factor SF-2 of 100-140.

    摘要: A toner for electrophotography contains at least a colorant and a binder resin, and (i) contains 0.1 to 15 parts by weight of colorant per 100 parts by weight of binder resin, (ii) has a number average particle size of 0.5 to 6.0 .mu.m, (iii) has a coefficient of variation of 20% or less based on a number distribution, and (iv) has a capsule structure containing a shell layer and a core. The toner has solvent-mixture-soluble resin components extracted with a solvent mixture of ethanol and methyl ethyl ketone wherein the maximum glass transition temperature (Tg1) of a first soluble resin component obtained by extracting until 10% by weight of the total weight of the solvent-mixture-soluble resin components, and the maximum glass transition temperature (Tg2) of a second soluble resin component of the remainder satisfy the following relations: Tg1>Tg2 and Tg1.gtoreq.50.degree. C.
