Abstract:
A toothbrush head with plural tufts of bristles comprising tapered bristles and plural non-tapered bristles. Tufts containing tapered bristles are arranged along the widthways opposite outermost sides of the tuft pattern and are of a greater length than inner tufts which contain non tapering bristles.
Abstract:
An injection moulding process for making a toothbrush involving a stack mould assembly of at least three mould blocks (1, 2, 3, 4) arranged for use along a longitudinal stack axis (A—A), with two end mould blocks (3, 4), and an intermediate mould block (1, 2), with part mould cavities (11A, 21, 31, 41, 51) in the blocks. Plastic toothbrush skeletons are made in a cavity (11A, 21, 31) between the intermediate block (1, 2) and one end block (3), then elastomer parts are made in a cavity (41, 51) between the intermediate block (1, 2) and the other end block (4). Preferably the intermediate block (1) rotates so its part cavity (11A) faces the other end block (4). Stack mould assemblies (1, 2, 3, 4) for this process are provided. The assembly (1, 2, 3, 4) provides a compact mould with high output.
Abstract:
A process for preparing acyloxybenzenesulfonates by reacting a carboxylic acid derivative with a salt of a phenolsulfonic acid in the presence of an antioxidant, preferably 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol. The addition of such antioxidants gives a product having a high color quality.
Abstract:
An oral hygiene implement, typically a toothbrush, having an oral hygiene element made of a thermoplastic elastomer material having a hardness in the range ShoreA 20-50 and a composition comprising 100-200 parts of a thermoplastic elastomer base material and 10-100 parts of a plasticiser comprising a mixture of a plasticising oil and a lipophilic flavouring substance which comprises menthol and/or derivatives thereof, the lipophilic flavouring substance being 5-15 wt % of the mixture.
Abstract:
A toothbrush head having elastomeric oral hygiene parts in the form of elastomeric strips aligned non-perpendicular to the length direction of the head. Preferably adjacent pairs of strips are linked to form a strip of “V” cross section. Preferably the head comprises flexibly linked segments and is flexibly linked to the toothbrush handle.
Abstract:
This invention discloses an improved method for making salts of acylisethionates using a direct esterification of a fatty acid with one or more salts of a selected hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid in the presence of a catalyst selected from the described group. This method may be used at temperatures below 200 degrees C.
Abstract:
A toothbrush grip handle made of a plastics material including one or plural voids having an opening at the surface of the grip handle and at least partly closed by a film material.
Abstract:
A tongue-cleaning device comprised of a handle and a head, the head having tongue cleaning elements made of both a relatively harder material and a relatively softer material.
