    摘要: A power management system for providing power to a main system, such as a telecommunications device, includes a number of modules that are joined by module-to-module interfaces that achieve a common EMC containment barrier. In one embodiment, a battery module defines a first EMC compartment that houses one or more backup batteries, a battery management module defines a second EMC compartment that includes circuitry such as recharging circuitry, and a power entry module includes a third EMC compartment. The power entry module has an input/output connection to the battery management module and has an AC input. An output cable extends from the power entry module to the main system. Compliant metallic module-to-module gaskets preserve EMC integrity at cable pass-throughs from the battery management module to the battery and power entry modules. The modules are mounted to a system housing in a manner that secures the modules in a desired relationship.

    摘要: A system, including an alarm which is synchronized with a coffeemaker, is used to coordinate wake-up time with coffee brewing time. In one embodiment of the invention, the alarm includes an alarm timer, an alarm controller, alarm input (e.g., dial or button), a speaker, circuitry for sound generation and a display. A user sets the alarm timer, and the speaker is capable of providing a sound to wake the user at the set time. The circuitry for sound generation is capable of generating a tone and transmitting the tone with the same speaker. This tone is transmitted to an electric coffeemaker which includes, a tone receptor (e.g., microphone and amplifier), and coffee brewing circuitry. The tone receptor receives the tone generated by the alarm and forwards related data to the coffee brewing circuitry. The coffee brew cycle is activated in response. The alarm may be an alarm clock radio and the speaker may transmit an ultrasonic or audible tone. Moreover, activation of the brew cycle may be programmed to occur at a specific time before or after the wake-up time.

    摘要: Some embodiments provide a system and method for enabling automatic call configuration to associated devices of parties involved in a data session. The call configuration involves a computing device utilized by an originating party. The originating party has an associated device other than the computing device which can be used for supplemental communication. The originating party picks or initiates a process which picks one or more destination parties to which supplemental communication is desired. Identifiers identifying a destination party or parties is forwarded to a mobile application server. The mobile application server can then perform an optional look-up to determine unique device identifiers for associated devices of the destination party or parties. The destination party identifier(s) and/or unique device identifiers is sent by the mobile application server to the associated device of the originating party. The associated device of the originating party is automatically configured to directly connect to the destination device with a single button press, like the PTT button found in some cell phone models.
