A machine for producing and/or treating a material web, in particular of paper or board, in which the material web can be guided along a material web guide path by means of at least one material web guide device from a material web production section or material web input section, in order to pass at least one material web treatment device, having an apparatus for forming a transfer strip of the material web and transferring the transfer strip through the machine, it being possible for the material web to be transferred along the material web guide path in that, by means of the apparatus for forming and transferring the transfer strip, a leading transfer strip of the material web is formed and guided through the machine, and the width of the transfer strip is increased to the full material web width (what is known as “tail widening”), and having an apparatus for detecting a break in the material web. The apparatus for detecting a break in the material web is provided and designed for the purpose of responding to a break in the transfer strip or the material web during the transfer of the material web, in particular during the increase in the width of the transfer strip.

Upon the measurement of lateral acceleration conditions on a rail vehicle and the optimizing accordingly of the inclination of the load-bearing floor, problems result due to time delays between the measurement and the setting as well as to disturbances which are included in the measurement. They are eliminated in the manner that track data relevant to lateral inclination are stored in a track modeling memory (27) together with the actual position (I) detected, the track data relevant at that time or in the future are called up and the precise floor inclination (.alpha..sub.1) necessary at the time is calculated (29) as a function of the detected instantaneous speed (9) of the vehicle and set (11).

Device for treating a fibrous pulp web that includes at least one support face, which is one of moving and stationary. The fibrous pulp web may be guided over the at least one support face. The device also includes at least one sealing device positioned on a side of the fibrous pulp web facing away from the at least one support face to strip at least a majority of a bordering air layer that entrained by the fibrous pulp web. The at least one sealing device may include a sealing disc that is one of substantially straight and at least partially curved, and that is at least one of elastically formed and resiliently mounted.
