Abstract:
An apparatus (100) has a batch container (110) having one or more openings (120) for the introduction of the substances to be processed, one or more openings (130) for the discharge of the processed substances, and a process chamber (140) having a rotor (150) and a stator (160), the rotor (150) mounted rotatably about a rotational axis (155) with respect to the stator (160) for the purpose of processing substances introduced into the process chamber (140). The stator (160) has a working surface (161) which is inclined at an angle W1 in relation to the rotational axis (155) of the rotor (150) and the rotor (150) has a working surface (151) which is inclined at an angle W2>W1 in relation to the rotational axis (155) of the rotor (150), such that the working surfaces (161, 151) of stator (160) and rotor (150) are disposed at an acute angle relative to each other. The process chamber (140), in which the introduced substances are dispersed, comminuted and homogenized, is formed between the rotor (150) and the stator (160) and is of hollow-conical cross section.
Abstract:
A system and method for removing shingles from a roof with an automatic triggering of power to a fastener engaging member which is accomplished with the aid of relative movement occurring when a leading edge of the system encounters a fastener coupled to a substrate with shingle coupled thereto.
Abstract:
A building panel offset adjustment and leveling system permits precise mounting of panel extrusion channels, and thereby the panels, onto the surface of a building. In a particular embodiment, a slotted spool race along the under surface of each extrusion channel mates with a threaded spool having a first flange slidably received within the spool race and a second flange coupled to the first flange by a threaded collar. The second flange articulates between a proximate position closest to the race and a distal position, providing a continuous offset adjustment range between said extrusion channel and the building. In one or more alternate embodiments, columns of coaxially mated shims replace the spool and provide incremental, graded offset adjustment. In each embodiment, a hollow bore through the offset adjustment system accepts a fastener which affixes the extrusion channel to the building and clamps the adjustment system into its selected offset position.
Abstract:
A method for optimizing fuel consumption in a machine powered by an internal combustion engine includes providing a fuel economy map associated at least in part with the internal combustion engine, the fuel economy map defining a fuel economy at a plurality of operating points of the internal combustion engine; determining a reserve need associated with the machine; determining an available reserve of the internal combustion engine for the plurality of operating points; identifying each operating point of the plurality of operating points having an acceptable reserve, the acceptable reserve being the available reserve that satisfies the reserve need; evaluating the fuel economy for the each operating point; and defining an output value for the each operating point based on the fuel economy and the acceptable reserve.
