    摘要: When captured content is detected, the captured content is analyzed to determine whether any portion of the content is subject to digital rights management protection specified for content captured. Responsive to determining that the captured content is subject to a first digital rights management protection, a database is queried to select at least one digital rights management rule associated with a first restricted element specifying at least one first criteria for combining the first restricted element with at least one other element. A determination is made whether the first restricted element is combined with the at least one other element in the captured content. Responsive to detecting the first restricted element is combined with the at least one other element, the captured content rights controller determines a combined digital rights management protection rule reconciling the at least one first criteria for combining the first restricted element with the presence of the at least one other element. The combined digital rights management rule is applied to restrict use of the captured content.

    摘要: An apparatus and a method are provided for selectively accessing digital content carried on a distribution medium such as a physical medium or a broadcast medium. In one embodiment, a plurality of digital content items are encrypted under a plurality of different key management blocks, wherein each key management block is associated with a different set of device keys. The plurality of content items may be provided together on a single distribution medium to devices having assigned device keys, so that devices may selectively access content as determined by the different key management block used to encrypt the various content items and by the device keys assigned to the devices. Depending on the association between the device key and the key management blocks, the decoding device may decode all of the content items, some of the content items, or none of the content items. To provide greater security, each content item may be multiple encrypted using multiple key management blocks per content item.

    摘要: A method, computer program product, and data processing system for secure automated dispensing of prescription medications are disclosed. A preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes broadcast encryption to encrypt a prescription for storage on a machine-readable medium that is pre-written with a key management block (KMB). The KMB encodes a session key needed to read from or write to the medium. Each prescription-writing device and medication dispensing device is assigned a unique set of device keys, which are used to recover the session key from the medium. Only authorized devices are able to recover the session key from a medium's KMB. Thus, only authorized devices may read or validly write prescriptions from/to the machine-readable medium. Hence, only authorized providers can write fillable prescriptions and only authorized dispensers can dispense medications to fill those prescriptions.

The first device may issue a challenge to the second device for authentication purposes. If service is approved, service is initiated, either from the first device or another authorized device. Devices may be organized into classes such that devices of a specific class are authorized to access the service.
