    摘要： Systems and methods for controlling access to a wireless network are provided. An access control device is configured to control access of a wireless device to the wireless network. The access control device includes a receiver configured to receive, from the wireless device, a first identifier. The first identifier has an identifier type. The access control device further includes a processor configured to select a database, from a first database and a second database, based on the identifier type. The processor is further configured to determine whether the first identifier is in the selected database. The processor is further configured to restrict access of the wireless device to the wireless network based on whether the first identifier is in the selected database.

    摘要： Methods and apparatus for improved program acquisition for use with MPEG-2 based systems. In an aspect, a method includes receiving a program association table (PAT) associated with an MPEG-2 transport stream, and identifying program map tables (PMTs) included in the PAT. The method also includes caching the PMTs, receiving a request to present a program, determining if a PMT associated with the program has been cached, and acquiring the selected program using information from the cached PMT. An apparatus includes means for receiving a PAT associated with an MPEG-2 transport stream and means for identifying PMTs included in the PAT. The apparatus also includes means for caching the PMTs, means for receiving a request to present a program, means for determining if a PMT associated with the program has been cached, and means for acquiring the selected program using information from the cached PMT.

    摘要： A generic quality of service (QoS) model that is not dependent on network technology is used to support QoS for communication networks utilizing different network technologies. The generic QoS model may include a superset of all QoS parameters for all network technologies being supported, e.g., 3GPP and 3GPP2. An application at a device may specify QoS for a traffic flow based on the generic QoS parameters in the superset. The generic QoS parameters may be converted to QoS parameters that are specific to a serving network. The converted QoS parameters are exchanged with the serving network and are used while exchanging traffic with the serving network.

    摘要： Methods and apparatuses are provided that facilitate providing one or more profiles to an application executing on a device. The application can request one or more profiles, which can relate to an application type. The application type can be specified in the profile request, determined based on a profile indicated in the profile request, etc. Where the application type corresponds to an operator-specific application type, one or more operator identifiers in the profile request can be verified with one or more other operator identifiers in an identity module of the device. Where the operator identifiers match, the requested profile can be provided to the application. Where the operator identifiers do not match, an invalid profile, error code, etc. can be provided to the application. In this regard, operators can control utilization of specific profiles that can be defined by the operator.

    摘要： Methods and apparatus for compression of headers in broadcasting BCMCS services in a wireless communication system are described. Techniques used in BCMCS systems without feedback include sending static context information during BCMCS service initialization for use in a decompressor in a mobile station. Techniques used in BCMCS systems with feedback include receiving feedback from distributed mobile station decompressors and adjusting the broadcasting compressor in response to the feedback. Techniques that reduce the number of operating states in both the compressor and the decompressor are described. Techniques to classify flows so that a reduced number of contexts are used to compress/decompress session packet headers in a push-to-talk service are described.
