    摘要: A superconducting deflection electromagnet apparatus for deflecting an electron beam includes a liquid helium reservoir 21 disposed outside of the magnetic shield 11 surrounding the cryostat 4 accommodating the upper and lower liquid helium containers 2 in which coil assemblies 1, 31, 32 are disposed. Preferably, the upper and lower liquid helium containers 2 are supported from the cryostat 4 by means of the thermally insulating support members 5, 6 and 8 whose positions are adjustable by means of the threaded projections 5a, 6a and 8a and the nuts 52, 53, 62, 63, 82, 83 engaging therewith. The nuts secure the respective thermally insulating support members to the cap-shaped fixing members 44, 47, 49 attached to the extensions 43, 45, 49 of the cryostat 4.

    摘要: In an electric safety switch circuit for use in apparatus having at least one safety switch for detecting at least one abnormal condition of the apparatus, switching elements are connected between a power source and the apparatus. The voltage of the main power source is transformed to a lower voltage and the switching elements are opened or closed by control circuitry in the low voltage circuit. The at least one safety switch is connected to the voltage transformer and the control circuitry such that the actuation of the at least one safety switch upon detection thereof of an abnormal condition actuates the control circuitry to open the switching elements and disconnect the apparatus from the power source.In one embodiment a primary switch is interconnected between the power source and the electric safety switch circuit, and in a modified embodiment the primary switch is connected in the electric safety switch circuit itself. The reduction in the voltage and current in which the primary switch and/or the at least one safety switch are interconnected results in improved reliability, durability, and operating life of the electric circuit as well as providing commensurate decreases in the cost of the electric circuit.

    摘要: An electromagnet for a charged-particle apparatus. The electromagnet of the first form of this invention may consist of a deflecting electromagnet comprising an iron core equipped with clamping plates having cavities through which a vacuum chamber runs. Provided in these cavities are small-sized coils using the iron core as the magnetic path and adapted to adjust the orbit for charged particles. The electromagnet of the second form of this invention consists of a deflecting electromagnet equipped with a banana-shaped principal coil whose radius of curvature is larger in its end sections than in its middle section, thereby leveling the magnetic-field distribution on the equilibrium orbit. In the electromagnet of the third form of this invention, the thickness of the iron core, surrounding the principal coil, is different at different positions along the equilibrium orbit for charged particles, thereby making it possible to obtain some desired magnetic-field distribution. The first and third forms of the electromagnet, in particular, are not restricted to a deflecting electromagnet in a charged-particle apparatus but is applicable to other types of electromagnets in a charged-particle apparatus.

The supplying device also can have a ball-like stirring device included in and movable within the container in accordance with rotation thereof to stir the developer. The supplying device further can have a holding device capable of being inserted thereinto the container and having the guide device; a transporting device for transporting the developer supplied through the guide device for development; a drive device for rotating the container; and a connecting device provided at one side of the container for rotation of the container within the holding device by the drive device.
