摘要: An apparatus for cleaning an instrument with a cleaning fluid includes a vessel defining a chamber and a port for at least partially filling the chamber with the fluid. The apparatus further includes an ultrasonic transducer for delivering ultrasonic energy to the fluid, and a vacuum pump for depressurizing the chamber. The apparatus further includes a rotatable device removably disposable in the chamber and having a rack defining a cavity for supporting the instrument. The rotatable device also has a fluid delivery member extending toward the cavity and having a fluid channel between an inlet and an outlet. The apparatus further includes a fluid transmission system in fluid communication with the chamber and the fluid channel of the fluid delivery member for circulating the fluid from the chamber through the fluid channel of the fluid delivery member. A method of cleaning an instrument is also provided.

摘要: A method of reprocessing a surgical instrument that includes a handpiece having opposed shells secured together with a fastener, a shroud secured to the handpiece and overlaying the fastener and a portion of the handpiece, an outer shaft extending from the shroud and defining a cutting window, and a cutting shaft movable within the outer shaft and including a cutting tip for resecting tissue within the cutting window is disclosed. The method includes mutilating the shroud so as to remove the shroud from the handpiece, removing the fastener, separating the opposed shells to access an interior of the handpiece, servicing or replacing at least one component within the interior of the handpiece, securing the opposed shells to one another with the fastener or another fastener, and securing a replacement shroud to the handpiece.

摘要: A method of recoupling components of a medical device in a desired orientation during reprocessing of the medical device. The method uses a binder to return the components to an adhered condition from a separated condition. The method comprises receiving the components of the medical device in the separated condition with the component spaced from the desired orientation. The components of the medical device are cleaned and arranged in the desired orientation. The binder is applied to recouple the components in the desired orientation to return the components to the adhered condition.

摘要: A medical device and a method of implementing a cryptosystem on the medical device include storing a data structure on a memory component of the medical device. An encryption key is stored in the data structure. Usage data related to usage of the medical device is provided. The encryption key is read from the data structure. The usage data is encrypted with the read encryption key. The encryption key is eliminated such that the encryption key is no longer present in the medical device.
