    摘要: A high capacity metropolitan area network (MAN) is described. Data traffic from users is connected to data concentrators at the edge of the network, and is transmitted over fiber optic data links to a hub where the data is switched. The hub includes a plurality of data switching modules, each having a control means, and each connected to a distributed control space division switch. Advantageously, the data switching modules, whose inputs are connected to the concentrators, perform all checking and routing functions, while the 1024.times.1024 maximum size space division switch, whose outputs are connected to the concentrators, provides a large fan-out distribution network for reaching many concentrators from each data switching module. Distributed control of the space division switch permits several million connection and disconnection actions to be performed each second, while the pipelined and parallel operation within the control means permits each of the 256 switching modules to process at least 50,000 transactions per second. The data switching modules chain groups of incoming packets destined for a common outlet of the space division switch so that only one connection in that switch is required for transmitting each group of chained packets from a data switching module to a concentrator. MAN provides security features including a port identification supplied by the data concentrators, and a check that each packet is from an authorized source user, transmitting on a port associated with that user, to an authorized destination user that is in the same group (virtual network) as the source user. Distributed control of the space division switch is implemented by dividing that switch into disjoint sets of connection and switching elements and controlling each such set with a different controller. These controllers communicate via a separate control network with the data switching modules which request circuit connections.

    摘要: A panel or slab construction includes a fiber core glued between two facing sheets of thin metal and having edges of the core spaced inwardly of the slab from the associated edges of the metal facing sheets thereby defining a recess. A decorative molding member having a predetermined shaped edge extends into the recess and is fixed to the edges of the metal sheets thereby concealing the adjacent edges of the core. At least one side of the molding is stepped approximately the thickness of the metal sheet such that the sheet overlies the molding with its exposed surface forming a flush transition with the surface of the shaped molding edge. A seamless veneer may thereby be formed and fixed to the steel facing sheet and associated molding as a single piece to finish the panel in a manner simulating the appearance of a solid slab.

    摘要: A fluid processor, suitable for the production of sterile water for injection, having a processor assembly and a process control system comprising a pump, a flow splitter, flow restrictors and a pressure relief valve. In a preferred embodiment, the processor assembly comprises a heat exchanger, a reactor and a heater arranged in a nested configuration. The preferred embodiment of the present invention also include a treatment assembly having a combination of filter, reverse osmosis and ion exchange devices and further incorporates an assembly and method allowing for the in situ sanitization of the fluid processor during cold start and shutdown to prevent bacteria growth during storage of the fluid processor. The fluid processor may include an electronic control system comprising a touch screen operator interface, a programmable logic controller and sensors for measuring temperature, pressure, flow rate, conductivity and endotoxin level.

    摘要: A panel system includes a rigid generally rectangular frame assembly formed from a pair of spaced upright members and a plurality of transverse members connecting the upright members. One of the transverse members is positioned intermediate the ends of the upright members and has a generally H-shaped configuration in cross-section. A generally elongate channel fits within the intermediate transverse member and has an upwardly projecting portion which is narrower in width than the transverse member. The projecting portion serves to provide for the mounting of electrical devices and also creates a light stop when decorative tiles are used to form a gap or slot in the frame assembly for passage of electrical cables and wiring into the interior of the frame assembly.
