摘要： Apparatus for applying carrier grids to the tops of groups of a predetermined number of capped containers, comprising a conveyor for moving the containers standing upright thereon along a predetermined horizontal path, a pocket wheel arranged adjacent the conveyor in the path of movement of the containers rotable by movement of the containers therealong, a pair of spaced parallel chains supported above the conveyor along the path of movement of the containers in an inclined position with one end above the tops of the containers and the other end below the tops for progressively applying pressure to a grid deposited on the tops of the containers, a hopper for holding a stack of grids, an ejector for ejecting the lowermost grid in the hopper downwardly at an angle directly into the path of movement of the tops of the containers, and means operable by the counter to effect operation of the ejector when the counter has counted a number of containers corresponding to the number of containers the grid is designed to hold.

摘要： A control circuit for filling apparatus of the kind wherein there is a nozzle through which liquid is delivered to a container and a filling valve for controlling flow through the nozzle. The circuit includes valve means that supplies sensing pressure to a sensing tube, an exhaust valve through which the pressure in the circuit is adapted to be exhausted to below operating pressure to terminate the filling operation by closing the filling valve in the nozzle and a diaphragm responsive to back pressure developed in the sensing tube to effect operation of the exhaust valve. There is also in the circuit, valve means for at times terminating the flow of sensing air and injecting high-pressure air into the sensing tube to clear it.

摘要： A container-filling machine of the gravity or pressure type having control means for automatically starting and stopping the filling operation and which is particularly adapted for filling bottles with liquids subject to foaming. The filling operation consists in first depositing a small amount of liquid into the container at slow speed so as to inhibit foaming; simultaneously lowering the filling nozzle into the container until the nozzle outlet is covered by the initially deposited liquid; and then introducing the liquid at a more rapid rate. Releasing the liquid into the container while the outlet from the nozzle is disposed below the surface of the liquid reduces agitation and turbulence to a minimum and thus prevents the formation of foam. This expedient may also be employed for liquids which do not have a tendency to foam, and in either event affords a faster filling operation than can be obtained by conventional filling procedures.
