摘要： This invention provides an image forming apparatus which performs fixing control complying with sheet characteristics in consideration of the productivity of a printing process and the precision of fixing control, and a control method thereof. To accomplish this, upon receiving a print job, the image forming apparatus extracts a sheet type used in the print job, and determines whether one set value in fixing control can be used for the extracted sheet type. If one set value can be used for the extracted sheet type, the image forming apparatus decides a common set value. If one set value cannot be used for the extracted sheet type, the image forming apparatus decides a set value for each type. In accordance with the decided set value, the image forming apparatus executes a printing process.

摘要： A printing apparatus that is capable of matching orientations of images on printed sheets even for a job of which information added to a head is insufficient to specify types of all sheets. The printing apparatus prints an image on a sheet by executing a job. A determination unit determines whether a use of a tab sheet is set to information added to the head of the job. A control unit determines an orientation of an image to be printed on a non-tab sheet according to an orientation of the tab sheet included in the information when the use of the tab sheet is set. The control unit determines an orientation of an image to be printed on a non-tab sheet according to discrimination of whether the tab sheet is included in the job based on analysis of the job when the use of the tab sheet is not set.

The display control unit helps set information on printing product post-processing to be performed. The receiving unit receives a print instruction. If the post-processing apparatus is selected, the switching unit performs distributed transmitting processing on an image forming apparatus and the post-processing apparatus in response to the print instruction such that, print data is transmitted to the image forming apparatus and post-processing data is transmitted to the post-processing apparatus. If the post-processing apparatus is not selected, the switching unit performs the transmitting processing on the image forming apparatus in response to the print instruction such that both the print data and the post-processing data are transmitted to the image forming apparatus. The post-processing apparatus specifies the post-processing data transmitted with identification information in response to identification information being input in the post-processing apparatus.

摘要： An object of the invention is to provide a data input/output method and apparatus which can avoid the transfer of unnecessary data in a double-sided output mode and can reduce a time that is required from an input to an output. To accomplish this object, data inputted to a RAM from a data input unit is stored in auxiliary storage, the data stored in auxiliary storage is transferred to the RAM and outputted to a printer engine when it is ready to output the data in the printer engine, and when the CPU determines that the inputted data is data to be outputted to the reverse side of a print medium, already having printed thereon previously outputted data, the CPU controls the system in such a manner that the data inputted to the RAM from the data input unit is directly outputted to the printer engine without storing it in auxiliary storage.
